Democratic nominee Joe Biden would not answer when pressed by President Trump during Tuesday night’s presidential debate about whether he has any backing from law enforcement groups.

Both candidates have the backing of various law enforcement groups, but the Trump campaign has leaned into the endorsements much more as the Biden campaign has dealt with a push from the left to defund police departments.

“He’s talking about defunding the police. … He has no law enforcement support,” Trump said Tuesday night in Ohio. “Who do you have? Name one group that supports you.”

“That’s not true. … We don’t have time to do anything,” Biden said, sparking a back-and-forth.

“We have time,” Trump insisted.

Fox News Sunday anchor and debate moderator Chris Wallace then turned the discussion toward recent unrest in Portland.

In the face of continuing protest marches calling to “defund the police” nationwide in the aftermath of George Floyd’s killing, Mr. Biden’s campaign said in a statement that he “hears and shares the deep grief and frustration of those calling out for change” and that he “supports the urgent need for reform.” But a campaign spokesman, Andrew Bates, said flatly that Mr. Biden was opposed to cutting police funding and believed more spending was necessary to help improve law enforcement and community policing.

But that didn’ helped him a lot and it seems that he decided to admit that he has no support from the law enforcement.

During a town hall event on NBC, Biden was asked about his plans for police, should he be elected.

A woman asked Biden to address the “troubling” movement to defund the police and how he would go about ensuring her husband’s safety. Biden dodged the question of safety, but pointed out that cops had supported him in the past.

“I have had overwhelming support from police my whole career up until this year,” he said.

The town hall came just days after the first presidential debate in which Biden failed to name a single law enforcement group that backed him.

(Video uploaded on the site But I think I found a link to the same video) Link Conservatives have continually called out Biden for saying he supports redirecting funding while dodging being associated with the “defund the police” crowd.

So he grew up in a neighborhood where all the guys either became cops, firefighters or priests and he says he wasn't qualified to be any of those. Well, what was he qualified for then? PRESIDENT!

By the looks of the polls, he apparently doesn’t need it.

Apart from a lot of other things, THIS election is likely to further undercut the power of unions.

THEY are struggling right now and have been.
