It seems many people believe they live in world where they are validated by their own emotions, feelings and desires. And this extends to politics and the center of this narcissistic filth is Washington DC and Hollywood. In a way - I can understand how they feel so entitled, because it seems such people never seem to suffer serious consequences for their actions.
1st rule of interviews and conversations.
1) Always assume you are being recorded.

And to state the obvious: The chick says she has tapes. Who knows if she really does? She'll be making s*** up anyway.
But if it's not legal to record conversations in the White House without both parties' consent, it seems to me anyone in the chain of custody who has, or claims to have such a recording, could be arrested by the Feds, including some NYC publisher.

The one-consent rule is followed by most states. The Virginia one-consent statute has been in place for quite a while, even while VA was controlled by Republicans. That statute does go further and say that consent of all parties is necessary where the speaking party has a reasonable expectation of privacy.
These conversations likely took place in DC, which has a one-consent law, but as far as I can tell doesn't protect speakers in private conversations.
