“...then why wouldn’t they pick someone more credible than that old hag?”

To make sure that she got at least one EV and could be on the ballot if no one got 270.

I have been saying this for months,

Pelosi wants to become president.

She had no chance of being nominated and in typical leftist
fashion she is manipulating behind the scenes to be the FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT.

Saw this coming for miles.

I’m sorry — perhaps I wasn’t clear.

Why would the Democrats do something like that to get NANCY PELOSI elected President? They could use the same stunt and get the same result with Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, etc. Any one of them would be more competent than that old hag.

Any one of them would be more competent than that old hag.

They're not looking for competence, but rather ruthless, destructive vindictiveness.

Dizzy brainless hatred on parade.

First, the elections must return enough House members to constitute a quorum. Otherwise, the new House cannot meet and thus cannot decide the Presidential election. In that case, the president pro tempore of the Senate (currently Chuck Grassley unless another is elected and until his current electoral term expires on 3 January 2022) gets the presidency. The Senate already has a quorum for the next Congress that splits 33-30-2 Democrat if no states resolve their elections. That gives the Democrats a majority to appoint a new president pro tempore. But the Senate does not need to meet to keep Chuck Grassley in office as president pro tempore; he merely must survive. If the new House of Representatives contains enough duly elected members to constitute a quorum, the members may elect Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. This will occur presumably only if she wins her seat and the Democrats win a majority, but the Democrats particularly have experienced the most severe trouble in counting votes earlier this year, so quite possibly, too many outstanding, uncounted, and disputed votes may prevent Democrats from taking their seats on time, thus possibly throwing the House to the Republicans, even if the Democrats ultimately win a majority through the electoral process. One can assume that each Representative will vote for President according to his party, but Republican representatives, who represent States that voted for Biden, may decide to vote for Biden anyway so to reflect the choice of the people of the state, part of which they represent. But the coronavirus, health problems, or even political assassinations may result in the absence of some state delegations (especially single-member delegations) and may cause some nearly evenly split state delegations to switch sides; for example, a 6-5 delegation may shift to a 4-5 delegation via a coronavirus death and a heart attack. If evenly split and entirely absent state delegations do not vote, then quite possibly, neither candidate will capture 26 state delegations. The House then continues through additional balloting until it selects a President. If at noon on 20 January 2021, the House has not selected a President but has a valid Speaker, then the Speaker of the House gets the Presidency. The Speaker of the House and the president pro tempore of the Senate must resign from Congress to claim the Presidency. Either can refuse to resign from Congress or otherwise refuse the Presidency, in which case it devolves upon the next official in the line of succession. Now, if the newly elected House cannot operate, and Chuck Grassley or such other person as may be designated as president pro tempore of the Senate is not available, then the Presidency devolves upon the Secretary of State, currently Mike Pompeo, provided that he is otherwise constitutionally qualified and never impeached. For more details, see the Presidential Succession Act (3 USC § 19.

Okay. Let's try that again, this time with paragraph formatting, which somehow vanished duirng posting. First, the elections must return enough House members to constitute a quorum. One can assume that each Representative will vote for President according to his party, but Republican representatives, who represent States that voted for Biden, may decide to vote for Biden anyway, especially if he holds an apparent potential to get a lead in the meaningless national popular vote, so to reflect the choice of the people of the state, part of which they represent. Addendum: one more item: Nancy Pelosi can hold the Presidency only until the House resolves the presidential election OR the Senate resolves the vice-presidential election. She then does not revert to her previous position as Speaker of the House or even to membership in the House of Representatives; instead, she leaves office as a private citizen, subject of course to election to office according to the laws of the State of California or such other jurisdiction from which she should seek election.

Remember the hanging Chads fiasco?

Preside Trump was asked about mail in ballots during yesterday’s press conference and did a great job describing what a nightmare it would be. He needs to have a separate press conference to focus on that one issue.

Interesting mention of Pelosi on the 31 of July... same day this email was written.

JULY 31, 2020 : (Atlantic Council DFRL email states an “election integrity partnership” at the request of DHS and CISA -— see Stanford University, censorship, cyber security, social media ) One of EIP’s founding partners — the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab — described CISA’s central role in the alleged censorship effort in a July 31, 2020, email.
“I know the Council has a number of efforts on broad policy around the elections, but we just set up an election integrity partnership at the request of DHS/CISA and are in weekly comms to debrief about disinfo,” the lab’s senior director Graham Brookie wrote. —— via NY Post
