Two white males among the more than 500 protesters threatened the couple, The McCloskeys lawyer said.
The McCloskeys responded by calling the police, going into their restored mansion, getting their firearms, and protecting themselves along with their property, Watkins said. Mark McCloskey also confirmed that the BLM protesters were armed:
“Somebody forced the gate, and I stood up and announced that this is private property. Go back. I can’t remember in detail anymore. I went inside, I got a rifle. And when they … because as soon as I said this is private property, those words enraged the crowd,” he said.
McClosky said one of the militants pulled out a loaded pistol magazine and clicked them together and said ‘you’re next.’
“We were threatened with our lives, threatened with a house being burned down, my office building being burned down, even our dog’s life being threatened. It was, it was about as bad as it can get,” McCloskey said.
Almost no one reported that the so-called “peaceful protesters” were armed.
But what was reported by the local media KSDK was also ignored.
After passing by the house of McCloskeys which managed to defend themself using their second amendment, the mob went in front of the mayor’s house and attacked the local reporter.

A small group of people pulled an AK-47 rifle out while cursing and yelling at a 5 On Your Side reporter and photographer who were trying to report live from the scene of a protest outside St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson’s house Sunday.
Reporter Justina Coronel recalled the moment during an interview Monday, saying she was seconds away from doing her live shot when she, photographer Don Galloway and a security guard watching over them decided to leave abruptly.
“It was bizarre and insane, they were ready to fight us,” Coronel said. “And it happened in seconds.

Even if the police came and arrested the rioters at the mayor’s home, Kim Gardner probably would have them released within hours, so no punishment for those who destroy others’ property.

turns out the couple were liberals who a registered democrats and have even contributed money to Democrats. My don’t care meter just pegged! Because a liberal is just a conservative that hasn’t been mugged yet. Maybe these two will wise up!
I don’t think anyone has to worry about the anti-gun crowd doing anything over the next ten years. This brief two-month period has concreted resolve over the need for weapons.

Very doubtful the DA could get a conviction. They where lawyers anyway, so the real burden of cost would have been on the State.

Some people never wake up. I am disappointed with this couple. Instead of bringing out their guns they should have called a social worker. Advice to BLM (fortunately they will not take it). When invading suburbia stay away from the mansions. They are occupied by the people who fund you and support you. Go after the middle class; the plumbers, TV repairmen etc. But be warned. They are also armed and are more willing to use their weapons.
Oh, just watch...”weapons for ME but NOT for thee”....
