This probably a bowline knot or some variation. If it was a noose knot, you would have keep retying it so you hand would fit inside it.

It’s been years but I had a buddy who worked at a placement outfit in Southern Cal. Mainly college grads to jobs that paid serious dough. There were seemingly innocuous code words used when describing desired candidates. I’m cynical enough to assume it still goes on.
