“But teachers no longer have any input on what’s being taught. That all comes from central administration.”

And yet, those same teachers overwhelmingly support left-wing teachers unions and politicians who perpetuate the current environment. My sister is a retired school teacher. She’s also a Democrat. We don’t talk about politics.

I wonder, is he on the “list” preventing him from buying a Firearm?

I’m surprised he hasn’t been shot by now.

There is some truth there, but only some. I taught in an urban school district. Every last city official was a Democrat. But we teachers pretty much mirrored society as a whole. There were conservatives, liberals, and everything in between.

As for the union leadership, oh yes they were one-sided. Every one of them was either left or far left.

So how could the rank-and-file be so balanced, and the union leadership be so leftist? Well, at election time the leadership would pull stunts that would make Stalin blush. A group of us even once saw a lawyer about that. We wanted to sue the union. The lawyer looked into it, and told us nothing could be done.

Poor very old lady. That said...did her long voting history in NYC include any votes for DIMs/LIBs/leftists? If so...she reaped what she sowed. Welcome to the party.

That’s very correct, both as a statement of truth, and as an example of political correctness.

Central administration is collectivist central planning, and using cumpuloray tax fundef public education is certainly central planning, and it is certainly communist. When I was in primary grade eithty years ago our schools were locally conrolled, and they did teach manners because our parents and other locals demanded it. And they demanded we were taught the Three R’s” and American history, civics, and American literture—Until the wretched Dick and Jane books came in and began the wreckage of our education system, dumbing down and the insult of lowered expecttions. I honor and respect all the cultured, educated, and decent people trying to effectively teach or chilren to be something other than Smart Phone gazing savages.

So, good for you and the hell with central administration.

Thanks for the post. And permit me to add one more thing. In my experience anyway, school central administrators act like most business leaders do today. They are too cowardly to say ‘no’ to any PC idea.

Here’s an example. About 15 years ago some activist went to our school board and suggested that U.S. History be made an optional class. A student could take some sort of ethnic studies class instead. “Good idea,” said our cowardly school board.

Well, most of our History teachers were up in arms about that. They were very upset. “Shut up or lose your job,” they were told.

So now we have graduates who know nothing about U.S. history. Some folks want to blame the teachers. Sim folks want to blame the teachers union. Those folks are all aiming at the wrong target.

School boards tend to be elected, so who elected them?

“...So a kid who would have been thrown out of school in the old days is now sent right back to class,...”

This is especially true with kids who are genuinely mental cases. They get IEPs that pretty much limit how, when and how much punishment they receive. And because they are ‘handicapped’ the law requires that their education be as little restricted as possible. That means besides occasionally hitting the teacher, they get to hit your kid with impunity.

It’s not just cowardly administrators, they have to follow the laws passed by Congress (and, yes, I know that education is not one of the enumerated powers). I know that Obama’s Ed Department had very strict guidelines on school punishments, including basically demands that blacks could not be suspended/expelled at a higher rate than whites no matter what they did. Hopefully this is less an issue now.

The liberal horse carp judges allowing him back on the streets deserve severe ass kickings or stoning.
Were this old lady my grandma and he was let out I’d go after him then after the judge.
Time to go after those who assault us and also after the judges who let them out.

Manners should be taught at home by the parents. Citizenship at school.

We are raising our 3 year old granddaughter full time in our home and she knows her manners and how to be polite. We live in the South and my wife was raised in the South. where manners and respect was expected. I was raised in a military family and moved around a lot but still know manners, courtesy and politeness.

But I can guarantee you that the problem here is not bad manners though. It is NYC and it is disrespect for other people and their well-being.

Who would even think about knocking a 92 year old little lady into a fire hydrant? For what reason? Something like this could have easily killed this poor woman.

Bad manners my ass. This is a bad person. Evil, as far as I'm concerned.

Plus NYC has a policy of releasing these vermin without bail. It is a license to commit mayhem.
