Yes, actually I think wearing a mask (and gloves!) is the least of the paranoia. Much better if we all wore masks and went about our business, than shut everything down.

Very good. My special needs son also probably wouldn’t wear one. He would just refuse. Thanks to know we can do it.

"People actually end up touching their faces more when wearing these masks!"

Only wimps with no self-discipline do that. Soldiers learn to avoid touching their faces for long periods of time. I know girls who work in customer service who don't touch their faces for full shifts while wearing masks. They have close relatives who were soldiers. The only people I see touching their faces and not wearing masks in stores are obviously slobs in more ways than one.

If that is a Spanish Flu photo, and I believe it is, one has to realize that the Spanish/Swine/H1N1 Flu at that time was INDEED a big killer.

I’m more apt to take advice and follow orders when they show me the urgency. They’re still not fully proving it now.

If it’s otherwise well made with two layers of quilting cloth and a pipe cleaner for forming around the bridge of the nose, it will work far better than the surgical masks. That is, if it’s properly worn and handled.

If a mask is otherwise well made with two layers of quilting cloth and a pipe cleaner for forming around the bridge of the nose, it will work far better than the surgical masks. If the breath doesn’t escape through the top of the mask, it won’t fog glasses. That is, it will work, if it’s properly worn and handled. Hope that helps.

Even though I hate them for me, I do think at-risk people (I’m actually one of ‘em) absolutely should wear them if they want to.

Even though I don’t like them, I’ve made a ton of masks for friends and family, especially my mom who’s 96 for when she goes “out”, which she doesn’t much at all. But my brother’s family lives with her and they’re NOT the cleanest in the world, and they DO go out. She’s also immune compromised. :( If she can make it through this at her age, mask or no mask, I’ll be impressed. She’s from “sturdy New England stock”, so she could be OK. It’s in God’s hands at this point, but so far, so good.

You actually made my point.

Never did hear back from you on this.

With that said, I believe there are valid reasons to wear a mask. You don't. No worries, that is what makes American the country it is.

People wear the available information and make their own decisions. As long as people are civil about it, what's not to like.

I support anyone's decision to not wear a mask.
