Why are they even there? I would just throw them out to the lawn and they can stream it on their phone...from Fox! . No rights violated. Screw em!

Exactly. How the hell does the WHCA get to dictate ANYTHING ANYWHERE inside the White House fence?
And the President has to simple accept it?

Bullcrap.

And the courts did say Acosta had to be allowed in, though it is dubious if it is enforceable. But why let Acosta or CNN ask a single question.

Ok, you’re here. You can watch, but zero interaction with CNN.

I would recommend the following:

1) No more WH press briefings
2) Press briefings can take place across the street
3) questions to be submitted in advanced in written form
4) questions will also be taken online from the web page from citizens
5) WH staff will review the questions and normalize disparate questions into a common language question
6) Questions will be acknowledged from their source news agency (CNN, citizen, etc)
7) Questions will be topical and will be sorted in the order of requests
8) The press breifing will be given as normal, and then the questions will be read and sources identified for the press corps.
9) Questions will be cut off 30 min prior to the briefing so that the responses can be formulated.
10) no questions will be taken directly
11) Each briefing will be recorded and along with a transcript, posted to the WH web page and kept current for 60 days. Beyond 60 days, a copy can be requested via email.

The room and its furnishings belong to the White House, not the press. Remove all of the seats and other furnishings other than the podium. They can all stand like they do on the front lawn briefings.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

What is the purpose of having White House News Conferences when the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions, & then refuses to report the truth or facts accurately. They get record ratings, & the American people get nothing but Fake News. Not worth the time & effort!

Maybe Trump’s press conferences are a problem because the president talks to much and fights to much. I enjoy it but I don’t think many Americans think it is a good thing too watch on the midst of a crisis.

Who’s in charge of Security ? Call WH security and have them moved to their assigned seats. OANN gets front row. CNN gets back row.

Kick ‘em out and make them Skype in. Like the NFL Draft.

Forget the briefing room, then, and let them all Skype in. That way whoever controls the transitions from each questioner to the President can decide where everyone "sat" in the room. Don't let CNN ask a question unless Trump has already taken questions from a half dozen others first.

This game of gotcha had gone way too far even before the current mess and now it's totally out of hand. If the egos of the reporters are an issue, fine, eliminate them. Just have the question heard while Trump looks at the questioner on a monitor and then look into a camera to give an answer. All the perverted reporters could be wearing their favorite S&M outfits and not have to get fancied up for their gotcha moment.

He should go on OANN and answer their questions as well as take written questions from the public. Have OANN give rights to the other networks to air the interview.

No questions allowed.

No shouting during a presser.

Just walk out and let the immature babies cry.

Give the briefings life a ‘fireside chat’ & don’t let the reporters on the White House grounds.

I’d say replace the White House Correspondents with invitees only. He can give his presentation to the WHCA, dismiss them, then call in the invitees for questions. That would surely piss them off.

The press take on this is so piquant.
They are patting each other on the back, calling each other heroes and pledging solidarity. They are going to stand firm. (Summation of twitter remarks)
POTUS just told them to have a good night and walked away without answering a question.

The pressitudes forgot where the power resided and they were left with eggs on their faces.
Soul satisfying followup to telling them off to their faces in the days before. POTUS has a real talent for branding and getting his point across.
