The price if AvGas is mostly for the cost of certifying the separate production processes, shipping containers and documentation.
All for a fuel type that is a minuscule portion of total production.
Get an engine with an STC for MoGas, or one that runs on Jet A/JP-5/AvTur
$1.75 in Minneapolis, Minnesota area.
$2.63 in San Fernando valley near Loss Angeles, California.
Difference is taxes. High taxes that pay the big pensions for gov’t workers and not to fix the roads as promised.
I paid $1.19/gal at Costco last Friday here in NM.

79 cents in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. 94 cents in Neosho, Missouri. And that was before todays crash in oil prices...
48.9 cents of that was Federal and State Taxes.
So the gas itself was 0.78 / gallon.
Cheaper than bottled water; far cheaper than milk.
$1.62 per gallon for reg ... $2.11 for diesel here in South TEXAS
Yawn if you want, the gather may be different that you think.

Oil producers have two options, produce at a loss, or quit.
Those few who have contacts or even better, agreements and working relations with buyers may have time. It will be a finite amount, and it will not be too long
Those that stop may not be able to produce again without significant startup problems and costs.
Some of the people still working in the fields are shutting wells in.
The pendulum is going to swing back the other way, and it will not be a soft swing.
