According to local accounts, two healthcare workers from a Denver-area hospital blocked lines of trucks and cars campaigning against the state government’s COVID-19 stay-at-home order. Hundreds of protesters defied social distancing laws on Sunday and gathered at the Colorado State Capitol in Denver calling for lockdown measures to be lifted and for nonessential businesses to reopen.
Karen was part of an army of protesters who crammed the capital city’s streets in an event called ‘Operation Gridlock’, to show their opposition to social distancing and lockdown measures. Tensions boiled over when a small group of nurses and healthcare workers took it upon themselves to counter-protest by standing in their way.
Two medical workers in scrubs and N95 masks were spotted blocking horn-honking motorists who had gathered at the State Capitol in Denver to challenge the mitigation methods, photos, and videos posted on a social media show.

“Go to China if you want communism,” she says, over loud honking.
“You can go to work why can’t I go to work?” the woman asks, referring to the closure of non-essential businesses in the state.
The workers didn’t appear to respond.
Several hundred demonstrators lined the streets to the city in their vehicles while honking their horns before circling it as pedestrians.
Many waved American flags and held signs that read “End the Virus, Not the Economy” and “We need stability to stay healthy,” according to The Denver Post.

I was glad to see that so many people turned out for the protest. Unfortunately, the governors and other officials just seem to be ignoring them or even, as in the case of good old Gretchen, threatening to take reprisals against the protestors by extending or tightening the lockdowns.
I don’t know what it will take to get them to pay attention.

Denver General Hospital is now called Denver Health. Located at 777 Bannock Street, Denver Health is ultra close to the State Capital. Neither the State Capital nor the Hospital are technically located in Downtown Denver. 777 Bannock is in the Golden Triangle. The State Capital is in Capital Hill. Each location is ultra close to Downtown Denver. If you do not know where Denver General Hospital is located then you are ignorant of Denver landmarks.

General Hospital is not far from the Courthouse in Denver. Took a friend there one night from West Denver. There are several other hospitals in Denver.
