The Internet is a great resource for charts. National charts from Billboard and Cashbox as well as charts from local radio stations can be found through Googling.
One interesting site is RateYourMusic, which features a device that allows you to create custom charts from a decade, a year, etc. For example, if you want a chart of singles from 1956, it will generate a chart of hte top 1,000 hits from that year. You can pick any year going back to 1900. However, the ratings seem to be based on a given song's popularity among the site's users.

Maybe we can find the Purple People Eater
where the wild goose goes"Cry of the Wild Goose" by Tennessee Ernie Ford - Frankie Laine and a couple others did it too.

I love this idea. I want to make sure I get on the ping list for this one! Love 50s music!

Sorry, out of my wheelhouse, but I will lurk. I am sure that I will learn some
things about that era. Thanks for doing this.

Cry of the Dying Duck in a Thunderstorm--Cactus Pryor & His Pricklypears (1950)
"My heart knows what the dying duck knows
And to dry my eyes and to blow my nose.
Dying duck, dying duck, roast duck, too,
If you were hungry, you'd kill him, too."
To: Fiji Hill
I’d have to be pretty hungry - wild duck meat sucks...

Id have to be pretty hungry - wild duck meat sucks... I like duck meat--and goose meat--but I've never had wild duck.
To: Fiji Hill
Wild duck is all dark meat, no juiciness and tastes like liver gone bad...and I like liver and onions.
I used a recipe that had you stuff it with apple pieces and onions and all it did was make me waste some apples and onions...

Maybe that’s why when you order duck meat in a Chinese restaurant, it always comes smothered in a sauce of some type.
