National Public Radio (NPR) continues to reinforce the years-old case for why its taxpayer-funding should be pulled by hiring a partisan to head up the entire organization. The new president and CEO of NPR, John Lansing, contributed $500 each to Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) Aug. 17, 2019, and Kentucky challenger for Sen. Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY), senate seat Amy McGrath (D) Aug. 15, 2019, according to Federal Election Commission records. The records suggest he made his contributions just less than a month before NPR announced his appointment to head up the government-funded news organization Sept. 5, raising questions about conflicts of interest. Lansing would assume his new role mid-October, according to NPR.

I don’t care who heads NPR. I do care that NPR continues to get taxpayer funding. It needs to stop - there is zero need for a radio network funded by taxpayers, especially when that radio network takes an active position in politics.

With all the nation’s radio stations, Sirius, podcasts, etc. there is absolutely no need for NPR. People should not be forced to subsidize any radio station or network. Same for TV.

Agree.

PBS/NPR were leftist org’s from their birth.

PBS came out of NET (National Educational Television) which was heavily sponsored by the leftist Ford Foundation.

They moved to U Mich in Ann Arbor, MI to become a full leftist org, bringing CPB and NPR into their cult. The

Our tax dollars directly support these unAmerican, socialist propaganda organs. TIME TO END IT — NOW!

I get the clear impression after listening occasionally to NPR, that neither the hosts, guests or anybody working there even knows a conservative let alone know a conservative position or would even consider them to be legitimate.

There never was a “need” for NPR, it never should have happened and it should be shuttered, not sold, just terminated lock, stock and barrel.
