You think China has the “desire or ability to war against US? Remember, China loans us the money for a lot of our federal spending, and China sells us most of what we buy at discount stores. That doesn’t seem like a country wanting to go to war with us.

The idea of universal peace time draft is to have a population of trained soldiers just in case.

OK, so they’re alright with us not paying back their trillions of dollars of loans? That’s not “making money off of us” — that would amount to giving us a multi-trillion-dollar gift.

I dont know but my father signed up and my grandfather fought in ww1, great grand pappy signed up with Lincoln. Frankly, I would sign up today for our Country today if needed. I can walk the mine fields. Good with a metal detector and if you lose me it’s okay. I’m not a great shot.

I’m sorry, this is a totally irrelevant question, and the answer is obvious in any case. We are not in 1941 or any situation comparable, so asking me about 1941 is as relevant as asking about King Philip’s War in the American colonies or which side I would have stood at during the English Civil War of the 1640s.
