In the summer of 2018, journalist Vivian Yee amused herself with the thought that Orange Country, California, was once an agricultural, “conservative (think Richard Nixon and the John Birch Society) and white (very, very white),” slice of America. But “Chinese and Korean immigrants, and Asian-Americans from other states,” she wrote on the eve of the midterm election, “have made Irvine nearly half Asian.”

Asians, Yee noted, are reliably liberal on gun control, climate change, and public spending. Indeed, Michelle Malkin recently took a deeper dive on the same topic in these pages:

With the midterms at the time of Yee’s writing just over the colorful California horizon, Yee, along with the Democratic Party and left-wing intelligentsia, saw the writing on the wall. Five months later, analysis of the midterm vote by the Pew Research Center showed that 77 percent of Asians went for the Democratic candidate on the ballot, compared to 69 percent of Latinos and 90 percent of blacks. By November 17, all of Orange County had been delivered to the Democratic Party.

It is not enough merely to produce books, articles, and movies in which the “Democrats are the real racists,” however true it might be. Talk of “trust the plan” will not save us from the gallows. Inexplicably, the best conservative opinion journal on the web is still quarantined in the "bloggers" forum, while crap like Salon and Slate is posted as news.

Unlike a lot of so-called "Conservative" opinion journals like the National Review and the Weekly Standard, they were *NEVER* part of the anti-Trump coalition.

Even their name evokes Trump and MAGA!

Their writers include both Angelo Codevilla and Victor Davis Hansen, two or the greatest thinkers our side has.

What is the reason for continuing to treat this site like it's someone's blog? I don't get it.

The default position for the Right in America since WW2 has been to lose. We usually lose gracefully, like an over-the-hill boxer who get's a warm-up to the title-fight slot, we know in our bones we're not there to win, but it's still a thrill to be in the contest.

But that's really not good enough when it's the future of our country we are talking about.

The author makes some suggestions for action that can be taken to try to slow or stop the inevitable progression of Red States to Blue. Can we keep Texas Red? Or is the eventual conversion of Texas to Blue - ala California, Oregon and Washington more-or-less a done deal?

iIthout Texas it's hard to color in an Electoral College map that results in a GOP victory. Can we maintain the things we care about, like the First Amendment, Second Amendment and the rest of the Bill or RIghts (not to mention "reality based reality" that includes things like the existence of only two genders) or will we lose gracefully on all that too.

The less possible political solutions become the more likely we end up with kinetic solutions.

You are too much of an optimist. The article includes stats on Indian (Hindus) and Pakistanis - they are abysmal. There is no history of Conservatism in these countries, they have no connection with American history. They are emotionally Leftists, at least all the Hindus I know. They believe big-government's job is to run everything and fix everything. That's how it works in India.

When I was a kid I only ever saw one Indian (Hindu) person - a teacher at our school. There were fewer Hindus in my suburban Michigan county than black bears.

Demographics is destiny. We don't have 20 years to wait for second or third generation Hindus and Mexicans ane El Salvadorians and Thais and Chinese to decide they like our quaint culture of individual rights, limited government and armed citizens. They, along with their Leftist handlers, (the "community organizers") will bring an end to all that long before those generations get a vote.

The only people on the planet who have ever valued freedom and liberty are white Anglo-Saxons, mainly Protestants. This country was great when it was 90% white European. The "browning" of America and our suicidal immigration approach will be our undoing. It's only a matter of time.

The leaders of our displacement are working hard to build the Asian minorities in American into a monolithic Leftist block like they have with the blacks.

I noticed this in our city where suddenly a new free paper "The Asian Reporter" popped up. It's in the front a Asian restaurants and in boxes near Asian supermarkets. Not sure who's behind it, but the politics are clearly "yellow grievance".

And if Asians can be convinced they are being treated badly, there is only one group that will be blamed for that.

I first read someone saying something like that here on Free Republic about 15 years ago. It was pretty blunt, and sort of rubbed me the wrong way (having been raised Catholic), so I went and investigated the claim. Over many years.

And it turns out that it's correct. It's interesting, if you take "Votes GOP" as a proxy for "Is Conservative" - then you can measure that. Voting GOP is an indicator that perhaps the person understands the intent of the Founders of the Republic. (So is support for an armed citizenry in my experience). What you discover, if you go look at voting patterns, is that you see that the GOP (and therefore the real American Republic) really is a WASP program, and not too many other groups have signed on to support it, even those who have done very well in America.

I believe Trump carried the non-Hispanic Catholic vote in the last election, but that was a first. Maybe, about 100 years after the high water of Irish and Italian immigration these groups are turning into Constitution supporting Conservatives. That's 5 generations, though, and it's still a lot lower level than people who self-identify as "Evangelical".

Continuing to pretend that American elections can be won with appeals to ideology (or even economics) is a risky game, akin to playing Russian Roulette with our nation. There is no example of a campaign that has moved the needle on the racial voting patterns in the above graph.

George Bush's "Kinder Gentler" Conservatism still lost the black vote, the Jewish vote, the Hispanic vote and the Asian vote to the Democrat. So did Romney, so did McCain. So did Trump.

Prosperity and economic achievement are not the issue for Asians. They have those things already. Their reasons for voting for Democrats consistently are different. There is no sign that they are "natural conservatives".

Race trumps religion.

White non-hispanic Catholics are about as Protestants as a whole. A little less than Evangelicals, a little more Republican than mainstream Protestant denominations.

People identifying as non-religious are overwhelmingly liberal voters.
