I stood by a couple of soy boys at Fred Meyer one day discussing the Keurig machine and overheard “yeah, the inventor of these lives with guilt every day from what the wasted cups do to the planet...” I just giggled to myself and wondered how they got that stupid and naive.
Young people are taught two primary lessons —
1) “Have you identified someone that you don’t like? That person is Hitler.”
2) “Have you identified a situation that you don’t like? That is the fault of rich white men.”
Coming to?
Where in the hell have you been, under a rock?
Socialism means never feeling guilt for coveting others goods or house.
IE socialism is rationalization for the sins of murder, theft, coveting.
High food prices at Shop Rite in NJ? They should talk to their local Union about that. Union labor costs more, which raises the cost of goods and services.
Forget it, Jake. It’s New Jersey.
Small-minded people will always find someone to blame for life’s little issues like the cost of things going up. Rich people are an easy target but rarely to blame.
Two or four (I forget which exactly) years ago the people of my state actually voted to increase the minimum wage without a clue as to how that would affect prices of everything and the people on fixed low incomes because they wouldn’t get a raise. Naturally prices went up, people got their hours cut back or laid off, and the value of a dollar dropped for everyone. Very few saw a benefit from this but everyone felt the downside.
Stupid should hurt.
The fruits of public education in the 21st century...
A rich person is someone who’s making a buck an hour more than you. (editorially speaking).
I aint rich, yet I do OK. But I am a white person and I do know how to fight back, better than you can imagine. Your move.
How many people here have ever been Gainfully Employed by a Poor Person??
They think their dollar should be stable, good luck with that.
my brother in law is 75 and he feels the same way, and has all his life. If you have a dollar and he has a dime, he’s sure you stole the other 90 cents from him.
My father in law also! the only wealthy people he liked were family. somehow, they deserved their wealth.
I thought you said you were in New Jersey?...
but not big giverment which creates money out of thin air, which increases aggregate demand, which increases the average level of prices.
and they blamed rich Americans. .................... who get off their asses, and create jobs for idiots like them, who in turn get raises via the unions, that cause the prices to rise. You can’t fix stupid.
Envy plays a major role in life. This brings to mind Henry Fielding’s The History of Tom Jones. In several places in that magnificent novel Fielding referenced envy describing it as “the Sister of Satan, and his constant Companion.” Also: “The black Ingredient which fouls our Disposition is Envy.” (Fielding capitalized words within sentences often.) He also suggested that people hated what they envied describing it “. . . a very malignant Passion.”
Doctor Johnson put it this way: “Envy is mere unmixed and genuine evil; it pursues a hateful end by despicable means, and desires not so much its own happiness as another’s misery.” Rambler #183: December 17, 1751.
was having a conversation this week with a millennial about the growing animosity between millennials and boomers and she said... “boomers destroyed the planet and they’re not part of the solution and need to be dealt with as such”
chilling to me.... as it’s from that thinking that gives rise to genocide, etc.
I live in NJ, Bricktown in Ocean County. There’s a Shop Rite five minutes from my house. Where is the one you’re talking about?
