Nobody but the American Shooting Urinal would be so pretentious as to ask such an inane question.
Thank you for that response, it seems like very good advice.
I do not want to build junk, I dont want to build something dangerous.
A class sounds like something I would really enjoy.
I have several firearms but, I have not yet built a rifle.
Have you ever shot a urinal or a toilet.
They blow up really good.
As for the website, they do some goofy stuff.
My understanding of which is better a AR10 or AR15? is that the AR15 is 50% better......
What a silly article. Both are fine weapons with totally different missions and capabilities.
If one needs close in home defense an AR-15 with a short barrel and 30 round mag is the rifle you need.
If you need to “call long distance” with many foot pounds of energy the AR-10 is the rifle you need.
I have both among many others. The AR-15 is my “go to weapon” for home defense along with 17 rounds of 9mm in my Taurus pistol. The AR-10 I just shoot for fun. I live on several acres of land and have my own range on my land.
Years ago my “go to weapon” in a pistol was a 45 ACP 1911. However, with the new and most potent ammo available in the 9mm, the 9mm is now my “go to weapon.”
My pocket pistol is a Glock 43. It is very functional and effective for its designed use but is an ugly black brick. It is hard to like a Glock based on their looks but they are fine pistols.
When it comes to “good looks” the Browning Hi Power Para Bellum and the 19ll are the best looking semi-auto pistols ever made. John Browning designed both pistols.
Do you (or any reader of this thread) KNOW what sort of wood that the Spanish National Arsenal used for the furniture on the CETME rifles.
The wood on my “parts kit” does NOT look like Walnut but I don’t know WHAT it is.
(I also don’t think that it’s BIRCH either, though MANY wooden-stocked G3 rifles were stocked in Birch.)
IF it was made in the USA, I would guess some sort of oak.

Some good books on AR assembly, the one I like is sort of the bible about that, updated with newer stuff. Kuleck is the expert.
.308 is pretty much the same, with a few twists like bolt catch fixing and safety pin location.
A few tools to acquire or borrow. I have a drawer of them, many superfluous like barrel nut wrenches only for certain free float fore-ends, etc.
Agreed! My go to is my Sigs in 45 and Springfields in 9.
Good post. Unless you are a shooter most would not really understand what you posted but that is okay. Your post was for shooters.
“The FN FAL is a nice option also.”
It is a most wonderful and functional weapon. The standard sights on it absolutely suck. However it is a battle weapon and at less than 300 yards is most excellent. I have never understood why they did not put sights on it that were like the M1-Garand.
