I just attempted to log into my Facebook account. Facebook is telling me that in order to access my account, I must provide them a Photo-ID. . .not just a photo, either. . .a photo ID. Of course, no way I'm doing that. My question is, has anyone else seen this? Is Facebook attempting to block conservatives with feigned security concerns and inordinate security requirements? Or, has someone hacked into Facebook or is this a phising hack attempt on me? Very strange. It only happens when I attempt to login to Facebook.

I just logged out and back in, no problem. You’ve been hacked or something. Clear out your cache memory and try again.
I’ve seen many “unstoppable juggernaut” social media sites fold up practically overnight.
Facebook is primed to do so, needing only an alternative & impetus for mass exodus. LOTS of people want out, only need somewhere to go. The interface sucks, the timeline algorithm is atrocious, signal/noise ratio is incredibly low, whole thing is obsolete - for want of a better option.
I was on time-out (third 30 day sentence in a year, adding gold OACs to my Fakebook 30day campaign medal) and opened another account using alternate ID, email, etc.
About two weeks later, I got a request for a photo, so I went online and downloaded an AI-generated picture (search for: these people do not exist)...
two days later the account was nuked.
But asking for photo ID for regular account? Naw... I’ll print out an AI-generated photo and put it on my ID first before I’ll add my real picture.

I could sign in without it with no problem.
But they added a new feature, which apparently you control and can turn on or off, whether to use face recognition or not.
Check again and see if they give you an alternative to this face recognition thing.
I recommend you send them an email, asking them to turn off that feature for you.
It has never happened to me on FB but I read all the time about Twitter forcing people to provide phone numbers and ID. Most social media platforms only require it if you want to be “verified”.
Use Matt Damon’s photo or Obama’s.
Then purge your account info.
This is a great opportunity for you to just stop using Facebook. Just stop.
They did the same thing to me--blocked my account and demanded a photo I.D. and some other document identifying me. I refused to send this to them; so they blocked my account, and they also blocked a separate account with a different telephone number.
They gave as a reason my posting of photographs of ISIS atrocities. These photos had been posted a number of times before, by me and others.
The real reason, of course, is my unwavering support for President Trump.
Many of my Facebook "friends" had also shown unwavering support for President Trump, and many were outspoken opponents of President Trump, but Facebook particularly disliked me because I had a very large number of eclectic "friends," of all persuasions, all over the world, and do not fit the stereotype of the Trump supporter that Facebook and its fellow travelers would like to be true and would like to convince the world is true.
For example, I have a beautiful and accomplished family, have impressive education credentials, have traveled and lived all over the world, speak three languages, regularly post beautiful examples of highly sophisticated music and visual art--that sort of thing.
Since being kicked off Facebook, many of my "friends" have contacted me and told me that they miss me and the beautiful pictures, music, art, etc. that posted there.
Facebook and other such Internet forums have become important means of mass communication, exactly like telephone companies, and they should be regulated to prevent them from censoring communication.
Regularly, in business, job applications, school applications, entertainment, or any other field, on and off the internet, Facebook addresses are given and requested.
Facebook and other internet venues should no more be able to censor freedom of speech--or to use their massive influence to influence politics and elections--than should the post office or telephone company.
They should be forced to respect US laws protecting freedom of speech, freedom of association, the free exchange of ideas, and freedom of the press.
Haven’t seen it.
Only use it to stay in touch with family and HS classmates, but was just on this morning with no issues.
Facebook? Never heard of it.

Never have had Facebook do that. Are you sure it’s not your phone doing that, or perhaps are you clicking on a link that is not really going to Facebook, look at the URL closely. You should use your mobile device and use the Facebook App. I think you’re being tricked by something?
They have been known to do this and I personally know people close to me this has happened to.
They had to provide proof of who the account holder is which include name and a date of birth or an ID with a picture and name.
I, too, thought this was a scam when it happened but it was legit. I truly dislike it and feel it’s above and beyond and what do they care anyways if they track people? And I stumbled upon this article, too.

Face Book is trying to force minorities off!
Because like the white progressives attest: minorities don’t know how to get legal ID.
It’s like the border: every foreign beer a legal beer but can’t expect people to obey laws.
