Must-Read Book on Trump: No Such Thing as Over-Exposure by Executive Biographer Robert Slater (2005)

It is truly "magic" to watch President Trump negotiate — and to read his moves and counter-moves so thorough exposed on his Twitter feed.  So many teachable moments of leadership and world-shaking strategy in action.  Imagine looking over Patton's shoulder during the Battle of the Bulge.

I'm now reading a great book on the Donald, No Such Thing as Over-Exposure published in 2005.

I've read a few of Trump's self-authored books and all of them have something special to offer.  However this biography of Trump stands out as a truly must-read portrait for several reasons:

  • The author, Robert Slater, is a world-class biographer of business leaders specializing in one-on-one contact with his subjects.  He wrote best selling biographies of Jack Welsh of GE, Lou Gerstner of IBM, and others.

  • While Trump's lawyers initially threatened Slater with a lawsuit, Slater persevered and was ultimately given 100 hours of interviews and personal observation time with Trump.

  • The author also interviewed 150 Trump associates and rivals.

  • The publishing date of the interviews in the early 2000s — after Trump made his famous comeback from his looming business disaster of the late 90s — shows Trump in his prime, just as the Apprentice series took off as a top TV show, but a decade before Trump jumped into politics.

  • Slater's writing style is so engaging and full of depth and detail.  And his observations of Trump, written in 2005, ring true today.  A quick sample:

When he entered a crowded room, Trump seems like a combination of rock star and presidential candidate.  He did not simply walk into a room; he strode in as if the cameras were rolling, all pointed at him -- and often they were.  He raised his hand as a greeting or made a "V for victory" sign as if he were a general back from the wars.  It never seemed to bother him that all eyes were fixed on him.  He relished the idea.

  • While this bio is written in the third person, when Trump's tactics are discussed in the book, you get the sense that Trump is speaking to us directly through Slater.

Reading this book is a truly enjoyable way to honor this great man who is winning our country back and putting it in the hands of We Deplorable Patriots.  KAG!

Loving this book. Comparing the author’s observations on Trump in the early 2000s is lots of fun. Great analysis of the man.

I believe Donald Trump is a one of a kind alpha-male who commands respect and admiration from those who support him. Not so much from his enemies. They fear and loathe him for upsetting their cozy apple carts of DC corruption.

We are very lucky to have this man as our president right now. With so much corruption in our government, he is finally lifting the veil and showing the country and the world who the rats and cockroaches are. And they don't like it.

He is the man of this era. No one else....name me one other person....who could accomplish so much that Trump has as president in the face of unending attacks and subversion and is still standing strong to continue the fight.

He will win reelection handily, despite the best efforts of his domestic enemies to unseat him but I'm afraid he is a one and out president. There is no one to follow him with the same skill set, charisma and dynamics as Donald J. Trump.

We should all be counting our blessings that we have this man as our leader. He has no equals.

Thanks for the book review PP.

We deplorables are flattered beyond belief that Robert Slater, an accomplished biographer, has taken the time and effort to publish such a tome for us. :-) Suspect libraries throughout the states (especially RED states) are attempting to manage tremendous calls for any TRUMP book on the shelves.

Deplorables = Those able to read, we admire and love the guy and his reasoning; want to know everything about him.

Never trumpers = Those that can read and suffer through Good Common Sense, have an opportunity to bone up on everything TRUMP in searching for his Achilles heel by which they can bring him down.

NOV 2020; will WTP be around to experience the victory?
