When Ted blamed the Voters and Donald Trump for the attack on Trump’s Chicago rally during the primaries it didn’t go over well here in Texas.

That’s not a new theory.

The illegal immigration support and the Teedy bear handout at the border didn’t win him more support than it cost him either.

The immature chickenshit posturing at the Republican convention is much more minor and forgettable, but it’s made it harder for people who desperately wanted to defend him from the two real items pull that defense off.

Homosexuality has always been with us, whether the law allows it or not. Heck, even the Muslim countries that punish it by death still have homosexuals. All the anti-sodomy laws did was encourage neighbors to report on each other to Big Government, just like in the Communist countries.

As long as it doesn’t involve coercion or underage children, I support the legal right of the sovereign individual to do as he pleases in his private life, even if it’s something I can’t imagine doing myself.

This is absurd. Tax exemptions were designed to stop churches from endorsing one specific candidate over another, not preaching the word of Christ.

All the issues with them corrupting marriage etc were kept under wraps by keeping homosexual acts illegal.

Even if poorly enforced those laws did good service.

Those laws had many unintended consequences, for instance encouraging gay men to stay in the closet and marry women while doing nothing to change the underlying homosexuality. This led to many sham marriages in which the woman found out after years of marriage and sometimes a few kids that her husband was gay or bisexual. Usually after contracting an STD from her husband. I believe women are better off knowing who’s normal and who’s not, who is potential husband material and who is better off as a shopping partner, so that they can make an informed decision.

My heterosexual marriage has not been corrupted by the legalization of homosexuality or of same-sex “marriage”. Neither, I would wager, has any other Freeper’s marriage. Because destroying something as beautiful as the love between a man and a woman is beyond the homosexuals’ power. And I am far more afraid of a government that thinks it has the right to regulate private sexual conduct of adults than I am of limp-wristed soyboys! As Ronald Reagan said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”.

Are you not sure?

I believed you if being threatened by my statement was the issue :)

You shouldn’t be so easily.

I took your statement as a mere admission of ignorance regarding the local politics down here.

If it had been intended as a challenge or to be threatening that was too vague.

“Kind of” is minimizing. It means I am in a position to know the political landscape where I live.

What a nasty answer I gave.

My apologies.

Chronic pain but others have it on the board and don’t act like they’re getting their period :)

not that I know what that’s like!!

Except for the terror of dealing with some women who were kind of miserable during those days.

Have a good weekend.

Cause they want to spew their stupidity for any other idiot to parrot it. It is a war of attrition
