If you’ve heard of the phrase “carbon footprint” chances are, you’ve heard of Greta Thunberg. The impassioned 16-year-old climate activist is now the subject of countless news articles, angry tweets, and not surprisingly, a whole host of uncharitable memes.
A polarizing force, you either love her for her devoted climate fervor or you hate her for the public spanking that she unleashed on world leaders for not taking the impending climate doom seriously enough. She has shamed politicians and individuals and has unapologetically called on the world to panic along with her.
But does Greta really buy what she’s selling? And does her carbon footprint line up with this passion that is made clear by the static pained expression that lingers on her face?

She sailed to America, on what was billed as a carbon free yacht/sailing ship.

I would like to do an environmental audit of that “carbon free yacht/sailing ship”.
Let’s start with all the materials that were manufactured to build it. ;-)
And she seems to be traveling with an entourage. What is their combined carbon footprint?
I’m sure the apologists would say, that Greta’s carbon footprint doesn’t matter because she’s warning the world about calamities yet to come, so she’s exempt from the rules they impose on the rest of us.
Or maybe she bought carbon credits with Al Gore. Either way she’s not held to the same standard they would impose on all of us, if they had the power to do so.
You’re not supposed to worry or look into HOW it was built! It just appeared and is doing its job saving the environment! lol
That is why I call the environmentalist movement a cargo cult.
They think stuff just appears magically!

How did little Greta recently get to Iowa from New York? The journey byTesla would take days allowing for frequent hours long recharging stops every few hundred miles. Train travel to Iowa would leave her stranded in the very southern part of the state... hours away by car from the liberal havens of Des Moines and Iowa City and rural Iowa is far removed from Tesla charging station. So how did St. Greta get to Iowa without travel in carbon belching planes and cars? Ditto for the rest her castigation tour. The

If it was anything like her “zero emissions” yacht trip, they probably had a semi driving ahead dropping off battery packs. Then driving back picking them up.
I’m not sure her parents are forcing her to do this. Greta seems to be a very angry person. Maybe her parents are afraid of her anger and are channeling her anger outward away from the family.
