Yep, it can easily happen here. In cultures / nations throughout history, the temptation to become jackboots has always been high for those with degraded spirits and lesser intellects, of whom there are countless.

In WWI, the worst offenders in the Japanese and German armies were the average citizen conscript given authority. They were routinely abusive and all for murder of their enemies. Liberals fit into this category. The average liberal is a tyrant.

OK, so they only said "emergency" once! Funny movie, though a parody of both the Left ("can't we all just get along?") but mostly the Right, conveying that rift with the Russians is a lot of hype, since they are just like us, and want to join us in rescuing kids.
