Mika Brzezinski asked former Secretary of State John Kerry why he isn't running for president against Donald Trump in 2020, during a Monday interview about the Ukraine phone call scandal and climate change activism.
Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, appeared on "Morning Joe" to discuss his new climate change group, "World War Zero," and other political issues, when he was hit with the question at the very end of the interview.
"So Mr. Secretary, before you go — of course, we won’t put you in the awkward position of talking about the other Democratic candidates, but some might ask why wouldn’t you run, during this crucial time, for president of the United States?" she asked.
"Because I’m doing what I’m doing right now," Kerry shot back." How’s that?"

The first presidential election I have recollection of is the 1976 election.
I was 8 and didn’t understand a whole lot of it but I knew some friendly looking guy lost and some funny looking guy with big teeth won.
I wonder what the oldest age is of someone currently alive who lost a presidential election.

Why leave out Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale. They are both well-rested. It looks like the Democrats have no one with broad appeal under the age of 70.

Although I don’t understand and I somewhat envy people whose political orientations have changed through the years, from left to right.

I’ve never voted for a dem and never could. Even if he was someone like a mayor Koch, who from what I remember ( i was young) did a good job.
Not so good to reflexively vote any party.
