Trump's Either Telling Us We Have Superweapons More Powerful Than Nukes...
Jalopnik ^ | September 16, 2019 | Kyle Mizokami

Twice in the last month, the President of the United States has claimed that the Pentagon has weapons even more powerful than nuclear weapons, with the ability to easily kill millions. He is either bluffing, confused, or is incapable of understanding the difference between conventional and nuclear weapons.

President Donald Trump made the claim during remarks to commemorate the 18th anniversary of the September 11th attacks in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania.

According to The Washington Post, Trump told an audience, emphasis mine:

“The last four days, we have hit our enemy harder than they have ever been hit before, and that will continue,” Trump said, apparently referring to the Afghanistan war and drawing applause from the crowd. “And if for any reason they come back to our country, we will go wherever they are and use power the likes of which the United States has never used before — and I’m not even talking about nuclear power. They will never have seen anything like what will happen to them.”

A plain tungsten rod the size of a telephone with no maneuvering thrusters or engine would weigh almost 25000 by itself

Motors/engine would absolutely be required as that much mass would be impossible to accurately aim without an expoentially heavier launch vehicle

The cost of getting that into stable orbit without it being obviously visible and still operation would be beyond reason

Rods from God:

Tungsten is heavy
Putting heavy things into space is expensive.
Even if it’s carbon fiber, it’s expensive as hell
Maybe some people hear have heard Tungsten is heavier than carbon fiber, heavier than feathers...? Heavier than lead?
Lessay I’m a scammer that wants to sell a fake “gold” bar, know what I use? Tungsten. Yes.
A gold bar is heavy, right? REALLY heavy. And a gold POLE would be well over 100 of those, over 1,000 of those.
Imagine a GOLD telephone pole, what does it weigh?
How much money might it cost to put it into orbit? 10 real telephone poles of gold? Nah, probably more.

Lessay Elon succeeds in EVERYTHING he promises about cheapening space launch and we fast-forward 20 years:

Did you know Rods from God would STILL bankrupt the USA..?

Know WHY people love talking about Rods from God..?

Cuz it sounds totally bad-ass —NO OTHER REASON AT ALL.

When you have someone who speaks in that authoritative tone about Rod from God, they’re saying they ABSOLUTELY are unable to do basic math and they don’t know anything about the space launch business.

It’s like a person who has never even seen a photograph of a pistol give a lecture about ballistics, make concealed carry recommendations, etc.

It’s just amazing to see.

2nd Div--do you have info or understandings at all similar to the following?

IIRC we have more than a handful of different more powerful weapons systems than nukes

Don't know anything about the specifics (other than that they are 'terribly devastating beyond words') but believe my sources.

I do not believe Trump is spoofing or ignorant or poor at math. I'm not sure he has the chutzpah to use such new devastating weapons systems unless he is very provoked into doing so. Terror on our soil by the hyper-evildoers would likely be sufficient provocation as he hinted.

And, IIRC, new systems have historically long been reserved for another hot war involving CONUS. He might well treat another terror attack on CONUS or our property or territory anywhere as enough of a trigger. I think he was extremely upset about 9/11 and has not 'just let that fade into history' by any stretch of the imagination.

I think his bombing that island to smithereens after the failed meeting at Camp David is but a hint at his resolve & determination to slap down the Jihadi's etc.

May God give him wisdom & great guidance & clarity in such matters. May his military advisors et al be intensely loyal, faithful, also resolute & effective. May the traitors still hidden in the ranks be exposed & dealt with emphatically. May the DS Cretans in the ranks be exposed, removed, punished.

I can guarantee you President Trump is not confused or anything else.

He’s well informed and a master of the Bluff, the Deal, the Deception and, the master of confusion.

AND, as he repeated again and again, all during the campaign, keeping his adversaries guessing and wondering.
Keeping his adversaries continuously wondering and off balance is what he’s all about.

The man is a maestro in this regard. His entire career and life success is based on these principles.

You interpret it exactly as I did. He didn’t say we would use something more powerful than nukes. Trump said it was something they had never seen before.

A M.O.A.B. would be useful. Some deep diving super bunker busters would be good. There are all sorts of things in the arsenal that could get their attention.

Well, that’s not very helpful. Most of the feedback I’m getting agrees with me. Read through the posts if you don’t believe me.

What Karl, are you proposing? Dropping leaflets with this picture all over Iran? Illness would spread, appetites would be lost, suicides would rise dramatically and there would be a run on eye-wash. Some would suffer serious bouts of PTSD.

In the streets of Tehran they would be chanting “never again.”

Either Rods from God or this...

Hafnium controversy

The hafnium controversy is a debate over the possibility of ‘triggering’ rapid energy releases, via gamma ray emission, from a nuclear isomer of hafnium, 178m2Hf. The energy release is potentially 5 orders of magnitude (100,000 times) more energetic than a chemical reaction, but 2 orders of magnitude less than a nuclear fission

I don’t think ‘Star Wars’ was about anything most folks think it was about. I don’t know if ‘Rods from God’ were deployed or not. If they were deployed, they are still very old tech in terms of the timelines of such stuff.

Aren’t you assuming that there are only conventional ways to put stuff in orbit. I no longer believe that’s true.
