He sounds like Tom Steyer, millions spent in an attempt to impeach Trump just so Steyer can get a cheap landscaper.

In Arizona, where I lived before I retired, they got rid of the cameras because of too many problems like you mentioned.

I got a couple of tickets there but I just denied that the driver was me. They dropped the tickets.

Here in Florida, apparently they have toll roads down south with cameras. I got a ticket and you could clearly see the license number in the photo but it wasn't mine nor did I own a van that was pictured.

So I wrote back to them and demanded they provide documentation that it was my vehicle. I'd never been down south and driven on the toll road so I knew it wasn't me.

Within a few days they dropped that ticket, as well.

They get their money from suckers who just write them a check.

Yeah well I’ll be that sucker who just writes them a check because in NYC they’ll suspend your license for not paying.

We can’t all be tough guys like you :)

In the U.S., it’s not that hard to represent yourself in moving violation case. The cop or the prosecutor often does something stupid. I went to trial for for a “failure to control speed” violation and a failure to appear violation, whatever that means.

Judge didn’t read the alleged citation, the elements of the alleged violation, and didn’t even cite the statute number I violated. Numerous constitutional violations at the trial, including the failure to call who I thought was the complaining witness. She refused to dismiss based on not presenting the complaining witness.

Asked if I wanted to call a witness, so I called this court clerk who allegedly signed a complaint. After about two minutes, the judge said I could not question her. I reminded the judge that the clerk signed the alleged complaint. Judge said that the clerk was not the complaining witness and the document she signed was not a complaint.

I then asked the judge for the name of the complaining witness. She replied that the state was the complaint witness. Told the judge that there is no such person named “The State of Texas”; and that such a person is as real as a unicorn, and where was the complaint signed by the “State of Texas”.

Judge then asked if I wanted to call any other witnesses, so I said, “I call the State of Texas”. Judge then asked me if I had subpoenaed the “State of Texas”. My reply was, “ there is no person named the state of Texas, and even if there was, it is the prosecutor’s job to subpoena the complaining witness.

Despite all that, the six idiots on the jury convicted me. It’s been over two years and the judge has still not entered a final judgment and the city has shown no interest in collecting any fines. They are hoping I just go away.

We are now in federal court with a judge who is trying to play “screw the pro se with the city attorney.” It’s not going to work.

Just last night on Me-TV, the Andy Griffin Show episode was about a woman who sped past Andy, Barney and all while on a fishing trip. They caught up to her (in a beautiful ‘62 T-Bird convertible) and gave her a ticket. She made a remark about the $10 fine so the Sheriff added $10 for contempt. She demanded to see the Justice of the Peace, so Andy turned the Sheriff sign around. When she refused to pay, she spent the night in jail. All on principle. (It did have a happy ending though).

Minor offences

A Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) will usually be issued for minor speeding offences (ie, driving between one and 10mph over the speed limit). This means you won’t have to go to court but you will receive a £100 fine and three penalty points on your licence.

You can challenge the FPN in court, but if you can’t convince the court of your innocence the fine you have to pay will be increased.

If your offence was minor, you may be offered the chance to go on a speed awareness course. This is a one-day course, where you will be taught about speed limits and the consequences of exceeding them. You’ll have to pay for the course yourself but if you successfully complete it, you will avoid having to pay the fine or receiving penalty points on your licence.

The police have the discretion to take you to court even if you’re driving at these speeds and if you’re convicted you’ll face a fine of 25-75 per cent of your weekly wages (up to a limit of £2,500), plus three point on your licence.

In the last one my lawyer friend got, he found a mistake on the ticket. He then called the cop to testify he asked him if he had written his name wrong. The cop said he may have.

The lawyer then requested a dismissal on insufficient evidence to convict. The Judge asked if he was a lawyer. When he said yes the city judge dismissed it.

I once told the District Court judge that I would appeal his $100 parking fine to the County Court.

He lowered the fine to $10 and wanted to pay it for me. I said no, as I was not guilty.

He then found me not guilty.

I'm not a tough guy. I'm a smart guy.

I'm smart enough to know NOT to live in NYC for that very reason. Expensive, over-regulated, smothering rules to live under in a communist-run city. What's his name? Comrade De Blasio?

Me not paying those tickets had nothing to do with me. It had to do with error-prone systems they used and where I got the tickets at.

IOW, you live in the wrong place my friend. :-)

In most states, red light and speeding camera tickets will not raise your insurance rates. The IIHS says “automated enforcement citations are generally civil or administrative violations that do not result in points and are not made part of the driver’s record.”Feb 7, 2019

Easy enough to look up :)
