WESTFIELD, N.J. – The New Jersey Assembly’s top Republican is making no secret about his decidedly pro-gun control orientation heading into the fall elections.

According to a source in the district, the campaign of Assembly GOP Minority Leader Jon Bramnick (R-Westfield) recently sent out a mailer to Democrat-inclusive universe of voters in his battleground 21st Legislative District (encompassing portions of Union, Somerset and Morris counties). In the mailer, Bramnick trumpets his support of strong gun control legislation and his “F” rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA).

NJ has closed in on peak gun control. The next step is gun confiscation.

Time for a new party

It's too late. The best we could hope for is something better rising from the ashes.

“... GOP Minority Leader Jon Bramnick (R-Westfield) ...”

And yet another RINO Uniparty POS bends over and spreads for the dems.

With “friends” like these...

I simply cannot express with mere words the happiness and relief that I feel, now that I’ve been out of that shithole state for nearly 19 years. It was already a fascist state in the making starting in the early ‘90s with the assumption of power by Flim Flam Florio, who jammed an “assault weapon” ban down our throats, but it has only gotten worse - more taxes, more regulations, tighter gun laws, more traffic, more crime, etc. Other than those few things, its a great place to live.

This reminds me of when I left. I don’t trust movers with a lot of items, but particularly guns and related products, so I packed all of my stuff into my car (covered with many other items, of course). I drove with my wife (then of about 1 1/2 years, who knew little of my guns other than that I had some), and my folks followed in our minivan. As we crossed the bridge leading out of NJ we passed a sign saying, “Welcome to Delaware” - at which point the following happened:

Me: “Well, now you don’t have to worry about bailing me out of jail.”

Wife: [wide-eyed, jaw suddenly slack] “Wha, Wha, What are you talking about? What did you do?”

Me: [Explained NJ AWB, specifically including the prohibition against magazines holding more than 15 rounds of ammunition].

Wife: “How many of them do you have?”

Me: “Sitting 18 inches behind my ass are about 200 years’ worth in Rahway State Prison.”

Wife: [goes pale, uncharacteristically says NOTHING for about 30 seconds] “They don’t have laws like that in Texas, do they?”

Me: [Smiles] “No, babe, Texas is in America.”

I haven’t looked back since...though I have lots more “stuff.”

Great story.

I hope to be able to write such a post about California in 20 years.

“I hope to be able to write such a post about California in 20 years.”

Just be careful who you tell about what you have. I had gone to gun shows in PA and NY to get a bunch of mags (and even had some sent to me at work in NYC - yeah, they were behind NJ at the time), but I could never actually go to the range with them. I was worried that some self-righteous Fudd hunter jackass would call the cops, or that some guy on the firing line was an off-duty cop.

Both parties are worthless

A third party should emerge

I was just talking about being able to write “20 years ago when I left California...”

I can’t wait to get out of this godless commie $#!^hole state and go to live in America where I can still be free. Just a few more short months, and I AM OUTTA HERE. I am going to party like it is 1984.

How ‘bout a SECOND party ? We could call it “Republican.” It would feature Conservatives who uphold the Constitution.

How do I convince the doomsayers that the Republic is worth saving? They remind me that more than 1/2 country is populated by our domestic enemies.

The USA just seems like “France western division” more and more. Yet, if the country cracks up and allows a return to our traditions ... it would happen with the Red Dragon of Asia ready to pounce.

PS. I hate Connecticut.

I was headed for Virginia until it recently went hard left.

Maybe Alabama or South Carolina. I’m still looking really. Hopefully some conservative state east of the Mississippi will grab me.

That’s flawed thinking. As long as we have our current electoral system, there will be exactly 2 major parties.

In the short term, dividing our vote means a certain overwhelming democrat victory. See 1912.

In the long term, every RINO you don’t like would end up in the new party eventually and you’d have the same party with a new name, see Canada.

This cretin should have been primaried. NJ seems to be on the fast track to becoming Massachusetts.

On the “bright” side NJ Assembly Republicans will have an oppo to choose a better leader after this guy likely loses to the rat.

No - it’s not. There’s nothing wrong with running a third party choice alongside the other parties - happens all the time.

What’s required is a lot of money and campaigning to get the new party up and running compared to the entrenched slave like parties.

But then this is how the GOP started as it overtook the Whigs.

The GOP didn’t “overtake” the Whig party. The Northern Whigs, minus the cotton wing in Massachusetts, essentially became the Republican party, they were joined by some anti-slavery democrats, many of whom returned to the rat party in the years following the war.
