'A Masterpiece:' Kamala Harris Praises NYT Anti-American Screed
PJ Media ^ | August 19, 2019 | Tyler O'Neil

Over the weekend, The New York Times launched "The 1619 Project," an attempt to reframe American history around the idea that the United States was truly founded in 1619 when the first black slaves came to America, rather than in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed. The project reframes many aspects of American life as rooted in slavery and oppression, including capitalism, the consumption of sugar, and the U.S.'s rejection of 100 percent government-funded health care.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), the candidate of radical identity politics in the 2020 Democratic primary race, praised the project as "a masterpiece."

"We must speak this truth: the very foundation of our country was built on the backs of enslaved people. The [1619 Project]—in print today in the Sunday [New York Times]—is a masterpiece from [Nikole Hannah-Jones] and her colleagues at [New York Times Magazine]," Harris wrote.

I suppose Willie Brown's WAG should know as her Jamaican ancestors owned slaves.

What a ****ing Woke year this is. Have to deal with the LGBT orgy over the anniversary of Stonewall. Now the Left is going to shove the 400th anniversary of the importation of black slaves into Virginia down our throats.

This “1619 project” is an illegal donation to the Harris campaign. It’s obvious any discovery will reveal coordination.

Amazingly, the Democrats are committed to framing this election as a contest between those who love America and those who hate it.

I think it is an unintentional donation to the Trump campaign.

Who knew that SNL’s line “...you ignorant sl*t” (back when they actually were funny), would be come a pretty accurate description of a good many female Democrat bottom dwellers of today.

Hey Kamala, go sleep with some folks so you can rise again.
Better boink a really rich one there.

They can ALL go piss up a rope. IF they don’t like here, GTFO!!!
As far as this “heels-up, knees-wide” KamalToe beotch goes, she can take a one-way trip back to Jamaica....and fricken’ stay there.

Why didn’t they pick 1607, since Jamestown was founded 12 years before the first slaves arrived. Oh yeah, that ruins the narrative.

No, the United States was not founded in 1619 when black people first came to the new world.

I believe that the founding of African countries began with the arrival of Europeans. The people that worked so hard to bring modern agriculture, law, sanitation and science to the primitive continent.

You know...I'm to the point where this silliness is just pure BS. If the Democrats want to make a big point of slavery, let them. The GOP needs to point out that slavery is gone and who are the Democrats to offer a counterfactual version of history? As an economist specializing in cliometrics, one of the key factors in US development was the rich resource base of this country, not its human capital. Water power was a key force in development. The South had slow-moving water ideal for moving bulk commodities by barge, where the North had fast-moving water idea for driving machines. The South would still have been a plantation-based economy even in the absence of slavery and the North would have been a manufacturing-based economy because of water wheels to drive machines. About the only consequence might have been somewhat higher prices for agricultural goods.

If you want to really stir up a hornets nest, read Time on the Cross by Fogel and Engerman (the won a Nobel Prize for it). Its conclusion: Slaves were economically better off before emancipation than after it. It's a two-volume work, and the economic theory is explained in Vol. 2, while the easier-to-read narrative reporting the conclusions is in Vol. 1.

This Stalinist view of American history will be enforced by burning all books and sterilization of all deniers.

Three Nationality Harris is not naturally an American.

Anyone born with more than one nationality is NOT a natural born citizen.

The children of foreign nationals are PRECISELY who the founders were excluding form being President.

I am sick of ...

1-Always being called a racist when I consider the content of their character vs the color (or whatever) of their skin in all my interactions on and off the job.

2-Being blamed for something that happened before my family ever came to this country from Germany mid-1800s.

I feel that race relations are now back to the level of 1965. Great progress in 50 years, eh? We have a culture problem.

Identity Politics is by definition divisive
