On Wednesday, the Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed a controversial gay reparations bill that will entitle same-sex couples to millions of dollars in tax refunds for their marriages which were not previously recognized under federal tax law.
LifeSite News reports:
"The PRIDE (Promoting Respect for Individuals Dignity and Equality) Act removes sex-specific terms such as 'husband' and 'wife' from the federal tax code, and allows couples married while the Defense of Marriage Act (which protected states and the federal government from having to recognize same-sex marriages from states that chose to recognize them) to claim tax refunds for which they were ineligible.
"The U.S. Supreme Court struck down DOMA in 2013. The Washington Blade reported that the Joint Committee on Taxation put the estimated amount the feds could have to pay out if the bill becomes law at $67 million.
"The PRIDE Act passed the House on Wednesday by voice vote, meaning lawmakers were not required to put a vote on the record. Notably, no Republican resisted. The Hill noted that New York GOP Rep. Tom Reed expressed a technical concern about the legislation but supported its core purpose to 'make sure our tax code is reflective of the law of the land as it has been declared by the Supreme Court.'"
In passing the PRIDE Act, Democrats are honoring our diversity and providing long-overdue justice to countless same-sex couples across the country who have been denied critical tax refunds because of who they are and who they love, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi proudly declared, according to CNN, calling for the Senate to quickly pass and reaffirm both the bill and its incredibly controversial message.

Agreed. Even Drudge would have reported that. Shenanigans.
Yeah, this does not pass the smell test.
Is Mayor Peter Breath going to be a beneficiary?
If they can get it passed and establish the precedent, they can always tack more zeroes onto the end of the dollar amount.
Zeroes are really nothing after all, especially to Congress.
Gees,Geese, meanwhile they withhold funds for the diseases of the 911 firefighters from the actual Islamic genocide.
I say f U congress. BULLY Agenda of emasculation and surrender is obviously at work
I don’t understand how the supreme court is going to allow this as it is based upon a recreational act like playing table tennis. I like it too, can I get a tax break for playing it? Keep it simple stupid.

Moscow Cocaine Mitch won’t bring it to the floor.
The House passed it, but it hasn’t reached the Senate. Why the Republicans did nothing in not quite understood though. However, if the Republicans remained mum then it did not pass unanimously. It just means that no NO votes were recorded.
Now if the Democrats would just wake up to the fact that our elderly are now being cheated by failure to update the law which is now requiring lower middle income retired to pay taxes on their Social Security benefit. This is kind of like the Alternative Minimum Tax issue which became such a problem because their was no inflation update in the figures they used.
What is happening with SS is that in 1983 when both parties agreed to tax SS of upper middle income recipients they developed a page long calculation sheet to determine if indeed one owed tax money on the SS money received each year. That page included a $25,000 deduction for single people, and a $32,000 deduction for couples. Now, 36 YEARS LATER, it is still $25 and $32K and is taking money from a much less affluent population. It is keeping me from marrying the wonderful man I have met since my husband died. As two singles we have a total deduction of $50,000. If we marry we only have $32,000. Thus at the 20% tax rate, we would have to pay $3,600 more in taxes. You can buy a lot of food and medicine for that amount. Thank you Congress for keeping us living in sin, instead of making the appropriate inflation adjustment after 36 year.
This is BS. It passed the House Ways and Means Committee unanimously. Someone from the Gaystapo side needs to watch them some School House Rock.
Sounds phony to me.
Married filing jointly usually results in higher tax than two individuals filing single.
I am left-handed. I am seeking reparations for desks, notebooks, scissors and writing exercises which caused me suffering through my years of school. It was oppression.
Send the $67 billion dollar bill to Justice Kennedy.
