Bubonic Plague “Imminent” in Los Angeles, Says Dr. Drew Pinsky
Red State ^ | July 20, 2019 | Jennifer Van Laar

Dr. Drew Pinsky, a California-based physician who now hosts a talk radio show, correctly predicted the current typhus outbreak in Los Angeles about 18 months ago. Now he is sounding the alarm about a potential outbreak of the bubonic plague in the Los Angeles area, saying that unless conditions change quickly and drastically, Southern California will be dealing with a horrific epidemic.

The last outbreak of the bubonic plague, ironically, was in the 1920’s in Los Angeles. Yersinia pestis, the organism that causes the plague, is endemic to the valleys Southern California and comes down through the foothills on squirrels and raccoons, Pinsky explained to Scott Adams on a Thursday podcast.

“[Then] It gets into the rats. When the rats proliferate, it gets into the humans. And we now have somewhere between 12 and 20 million rats in Los Angeles, and we’re one of the only cities in the country with no rodent control program.

“If you look at the pictures of Los Angeles you’ll see that the homeless encampments are surrounded by dumps. People defecate there, they throw their trash there, and the rats just proliferate there.

“The last outbreak was in the 1920s. It was only because of some heroic efforts by a group of physicians that it didn’t become a massive problem. It killed everyone who came in contact with the case zero.”

With the sheer volume of people now in Los Angeles, compared to 100 years ago, this is a terrifying prospect.

Downtown Los Angeles is now infamous for its trash piles, and while those are definitely part of the problem, Pinsky said the homelessness issue is the main driver of the potential disease outbreaks. Pinsky, who has worked as a physician at psychiatric hospitals, believes the homelessness issue has been caused by an inability to properly treat the chronically mentally ill and drug addicts. The people in this population, he asserts, will not voluntarily take up offers of housing.

Good. Put up T-Walls up, all around LA County, control access and test everyone coming out like they did in I Am Legend, restrict movement out so the rich-celebrities-athletes with money can’t flee the place and let them suffer. Wait till they’re all gone, go in there with some front end loaders, clean the place up and start over. California and, more importantly, the country will be better for it.

Is that cruel? Sorry, not sorry.

As a matter of fact, earlier today I saw two LAPD bust ups of homeless camps in Studio City and Hollywood. The sidewalks under freeway bridges in Hollywood are covered in human and dog feces. Tents and campfires on the sidewalks

LA is what the President was referring to when he said shithole

It is called the “Process of natural Selection”. Got a problem? A Dem politician will be the source of the solution.

Treatment for Plague is streptomycin. I and 2 others contracted plague in 1970. 24 days in an Army hospital, Vung Tau, Vietnam.

I used to watch this channel on YouTube where the guy would rig up a hidden camera on himself and walk through the streets of LA where the homeless were congregating. This was before the massive encampments of today were set up. It was horrible even then.

UNWILLINGNESS, not inability. The homeless are special people, you know, and better than us who have jobs and homes and stuff.

The problem I see...if you were reasonably healthy, and then started to notice serious diarrhea, some fever, and some cramps...you might go to a doctor, and with enough tests...determine this in a few days.

However, if you were a serious dope-user, on heroin...you could skip three warning stages, and go into some bleeding (lacking clot ability), severe weakness, and then skin turning black. By that point, streptomycin would have limits.

Add to it....just in one single camp area of 200 tents, you might ID ten guys in a week with the plague, and bring in the resources to test all 350 people....find half of them with the beginning elements, and forty with serious effects going on. You’d need to isolate the 200-odd people real quick. Then you’d need to dismantle this camp and do a massive clean-up and destroy the rat population ASAP. Where exactly will you put the new camp, and won’t this just help to restart the plague outbreak somewhere else?

When the rats proliferate, it gets into the humans

As long as the rats carry the pathogen AND the insect vector is available.
