Mr. Trump was probably telling the truth.
He was already known in the past for being in favor of Gay marriage. This is from back when he was a democrat.
Not all conservatives feel the same way about this.
In a way, it is to Mr. Trump’s advantage that he’s not easily goaded into a frothing rage at the mere mention of gay marriage. That is what Mayor Pete and Co. have been counting on, to use as a rallying point. Pete’s fake accusations against VP Pence are not going anywhere, but he still brings it up from time to time. VP Pence has commented “Pete knows better”.

That’s EXACTLY what convinced me that this was all a sham, designed to get Trump to say something that he and the party overall would later regret. Pence barely exists politically and hasn’t said jack about Butterfingers...so why did Butterfingers bring up Pence? Answer - nothing else was working, so why not try?
