As a general rule FBI personnel aren’t supposed to leak a anything, classified or not. If one does leak something in return for compensation (aka a “bribe”), that’s bribery for which both the briber and bribee can be prosecuted, as in the Lori Laughlin case. That really puts a lot of the MSM people, and their employers, on the spot.

Good point about bribery, they’re cooked if a quid pro quo can be shown. The law is unsettled about whether it’s illegal to receive classified information (Pentagon Papers precedent) but that didn’t stop them from naming James Rosen as an unindicted co-consiprator, which cost him his job and reputation even though he was not charged criminally. So there are many forms of retribution that may well come down on the heads of those media figgers who took advantage of leaked information.
