“Our generation cannot wait for your generation to die off.”

I'm sure that hurt coming from your daughter.

I hope you won't be offended by this, but when I read it, I laughed a little. Mostly because this current generation of young people has got to be about the most clueless in terms of understanding how the world around them came into being, what it took to get us here, and what it takes to keep it all running.

Reminds me of many dystopian future movies where the descendents are left in the ruins of a once great civilization because they couldn't keep the machinery of society running. Someday they'll get their wish and those of us who, against all odds, managed to keep their world turning will be gone. I just hope they grow up in time.

Current scientists and engineers cannot understand how we got to the moon with the technology we had. They don’t know how the statue was originally put on top of the capitol building in Austin Texas. They dig up streets for alterations and repairs and find things they can’t comprehend.

Churches and malls are shuttering and collapsing from non-use. Think it won’t happen to schools either?

Distopian present is more like it. Tribalism is on the return.
