If he loses at the Supreme Court then it will forever establish the precedent that the President can’t move money around in the budget. The Dems favorite ploy will no longer work.

If the nation is sufficiently flooded with people that don’t give a damn about it, neither Trump nor the rest of us win. Indeed, no one in the world wins, save a few short-sighted power hungry SOBs.

If so, it is a Pyrrhic victory.

When DJT leaves office we will still be overrun by illegals who will destroy the country and ensure permanent rule by despotic liberals.

It is not victory just to place blame where it belongs when you still lose the war.

Yeah, because leftist judges will stop them from doing it just like they did during 16 years of Clinton & Obama.

It is a mistake to think that application of law (correctly or incorrectly) to a Republican president will be applied the same to a Democrat president.

We have the power to stop all of it. As they did in 1776 and 1861.

We could have put a stop to so much of this had people voted for folks other than McConnell, Ryan, Graham, etc etc, over and over, expecting something different the next time. obamacare would be history had it not been for mccain turning his back on the people the elected him and yet, he’s held as a hero in his death, when he was anything but.

We have the power to change things, we choose not to. Is it easy? Nope. Can it be done? Yep. And this isn’t just on the federal level, either. This goes all the way to your local school board and city council’s. I think, pretty much across the board, they are all corrupt to the core and not a lot of people seem to care.

How is it a win if the country is swamped by a human wave invasion. Legalities won't matter any longer. We will simply be buried by millions of people who have no concept of the USA and will subvert it until we have a third world model of rulers and ruled.

He doesn’t need to move money around, it’s already in military funding for infrastructure to deter drug running. He doesn’t even need a declaration of emergency for that.

The declaration of emergency is to highlight the grave nature of the border problems. It also helps angel families cope with their loss by having a President that ‘gets it’ and who proclaims loudly that their suffering is not in vain.

Recall that angel families were not even allowed into Pelosi’s office. They are as good as dead to Democrats. Hearing our President proclaim loudly “Emergency” gives these families great hope and justice especially after being shunned by Democrats.

My guess is John Roberts is already checking with Obama on how he should vote.

Trump should begin systematically placing the most dangerous of these new refugees into areas inhabited by the most powerful democrat politicians and its wealthiest donors. FedGov should acquire homes in wealthy leftist northeastern seaside communities, and convert them to group housing for dangerous refugees. Until tragedy befalls the personal lives of these democrats, they are elated to bring in dangerous future voters who will prey upon America’s poorest and hardest to employ. Many powerful democrat family lives must be sacrificed as a direct consequence of the actions taken by democrat politicians, before anything will improve.

Had the President NOT signed the law and instead, acknowledging that Congress voted a veto-proof majority but that in good conscience he could not sign it and it was all the doing of Congress, then he would win.

Now, when they come thru Mexico, by the hundreds of thousands and invade the border, all they’re going to say is that he signed the bill and he’s responsible.

He can’t put a wall up fast enough to stop what is on the way. I don’t care if Superman is building it at the speed of sound. They’re going to come from all over the world. And since they let the world know that you cannot be deported if you have a kid with you, WE ARE DONE!!!!

I think that is the least likely outcome. The Constitution contemplated that the Executive must have the power to respond to emergencies, common in the New World with a immature Republic. They didn't want a Parliament, they had tried to do that with the Articles of Confederation and learned that it didn't work. The didn't want a King either, so a strong President subject to elections was the porridge that was just right.

The Supreme Court are never going to overturn that basic architecture of our government. Trump is well supported by existing statues crafted and approved by the Congress. They can only be bypassed by repeal, not by some legislative fiat by a Court. Moreover, Pelosi cannot proclaim that since she is now the Speaker, she has the power and the mandate to overturn existing law. The best that the Supreme Court can do is to nibble around the margins, but since that has never been done with National Emergency I don't think that the Court will do it now. Reprogramming money already appropriated is the mother's milk of all politicians, Presidents, and Members of Congress, and they won't stand for trampling on their prerogatives.

I fought the local school system 20 years ago in Lakeland, FL. I fought at the teacher level, I fought at the administration level, I fought at the school board level and I fought at the Superintendent level.

I won worthy victories at each level. But......they were victories for my child. None of these victories changed anything for anyone else. Only in one instance I did manage to force a change in county policy. And I would be surprised if that wasn’t revised a few years later after I was out of the picture.

That’s when the reality hit me of how few parents cared about the school system, or were willing to take the time and effort to do battle over anything. Many had no clue what was taking place - and didn’t want to know. Take a stand on principle? Too much time and effort. Especially in an area where one would likely butt heads with too many local power brokers. School boards are part of any local old boys network. Go along to get along.

My kid is grown. The wife and I live in another state, in a smaller town. Same thing here. Incompetence and corruption are at every level of government. Regardless of where you live or how conservative you think your area is, institutions like the school system are incompetent.

...you cannot be deported if you have a kid with you,...
____________________________________
You (the illegal picking up the child)will be interviewed and background checked by ICE. Name, address, employment history, criminal record down to misdemeanors. IF someone braves that within the 7 month period covered by this spending authorization, then there is no prohibition against ICE coming to your home, place of work (if you can provide proof of one gained without identity theft or identity fraud) and arresting you there. Then you must enroll the child in a school and provide records, again risking arrest.

This places all the burden on the illegal living in the shadows and puts them in danger of deportation.

This is an appropriation bill. It cannot and does not change or create law. It is limited in time. It is limited in scope. Ex: it limits ICE spending for certain items during the 7 month period it exists. Well, ICE has multiple pots of funds that are fungible within the agency, as do all agencies, including the Executive.

The BS in the bill is all political. It is all designed to get your blood pressure up and cause you to lose trust in POTUS and hopefully, never vote again. Yay! Win for the commies if you don’t vote again. Way to go!

Read the signing statement.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/statement-by-the-president-28/

Watch this guy(30 minutes):
https://www.pscp.tv/w/1mnGeOOzZmvxX

Stop listening to backstabbers.
Trump and his team vetted this bill completely and checked it against the existing law, including the Constitution. The proof of that is in the language of the signing statement. The signing statement is a double bird flipped at Congress/media by Trump. He is on solid ground on all aspects. He knows it. They now know he knows it.

We’re getting a wall. Illegal immigration is being choked and will dwindle to nothing. The census question on citizenship has precedent. It was a question thru the 50s, maybe later. We win that, which is on solid Constitutional and legal precedent foundation and we cost the commies congressional districts and Electoral College votes.

A spending bill has no standing in any court on the question of Constitutionality. Judicial challenges cannot take place PRIOR to the actual SPENDING of monies. The appropriated funds are contractually obligated by Congressional vote and Executive signature.

We win.

I have no faith in the SC to make any kind of Constitutional decision. Like the rest of the Federal government it is so damn full of communists that America is finished. And look at the voters, most pure ignorant.

2020 will bring about CW2 no matter who wins. To believe either side will accept the others candidate as POTUS is extremely naive.

I wish I shared your enthusiasm and optimism.

I’m a supporter, okay. The last time he signed one of these “budget bills” he said, never again. Well, it happened again.

I don’t know what he knows. I don’t know his master plan. But, Congress had a veto proof majority. Let them own it. All of it. Don’t sign it and then let the Dem’s and RINOs go on tv and tell the country how mean the President is. And when the zombie-illegal alien hordes come to the border, it is all on Congress.

As for kids being registered in schools. I challenge you to find me one school in the United States that is going to call ICE on a kid or their “parent”. And if they do, then the Dem’s and the MSM will be on that school system like fat kids on a cake and the lawsuits will start dropping all over the place. How dare School ???? deny this poor child a chance. That’s all that’s going to happen. One school system, in one town in America will get sued....lose....and every other school system will buckle. Hell, the more kids they have in school getting free breakfast and lunch, the more the schools get from the Feds anyway, so they encourage that.

This entire thing was designed to create such a massive crisis on the border to force his hand and make him look bad. Short of firing into the mobs that are on the way, there is no stopping this.

The President can get $80 billion for that wall and make it 100 ft high with a moat filled with alligators and piranhas, it can’t/won’t go up fast enough to stop what is coming.

The problem is that everyone is against Government Spending, unless it’s spending for THEIR pet projects.
