The State of Journalism: There’s Not Much Left to Explain

Somebody at The Washington Times thinks Journalism jumped the shark this month. I’d say they are more than a bit behind the Times.

While the Washington Times explains that the ludicrous “fact checking” by the MSM is not, in fact, checking at all:

That’s the problem in a nutshell. If your fact check consists of “this is true, but” you are no longer checking a fact. You are engaged in an argument, and therefore, you’re guilty of misleading your readers — which, we thought, was the opposite of your job description.

Meanwhile, America’s newspaper of record, The New York Times, having jumped the shark long ago continued on its ill-advised course of also screwing the pooch and printed this explosive headline: F.B.I. Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia which contained not a whit of new information.

The headline is a classic example of click bait and I’m certain that every liberal eyeball in the country has already clicked on some variation of the Times “report” hoping to see what they all believe to be “their truth” in print. But alas, no, it was simply an excuse to regurgitate all of the editors’ favorite witch hunting storylines. What a disappointment.

No evidence has emerged publicly that Mr. Trump was secretly in contact with or took direction from Russian government officials. (Again. But that doesn’t mean we’re giving up.)

Really, there’s not much left to explain.

Ironically, I just turned on my computer to make a comment about journalism in America. The power of the media and the ability to misinform people is in need of some serious addressment on our part ...all of us.

I think a good deal of the turmoil and division in the country is a direct result of media propaganda. I was listening to a C-SPAN American Journal discussion on the border and shutdown topic this morning and heard a black man call in to support Schumer. In his comment he said, "When Trump goes on TV and says we have too many brown people here already, that's all we need to know about who this guy is and why he is doing this."

I think we are sitting right on the point of no return and every one of us needs to take part in an effort to start educating people, especially young people where ever and when ever we can.

Trump is not perfect; I find many of his personality traits to be annoying and childish. Nonetheless, he is the last remaining bulwark against the total takeover of this country by the liberals and their globalist elitist Republican allies. In this regard, I am reminded of what William Tecumseh Sherman said (in summary) when Lincoln died: “the measure of the man was that to win the war, he was willing to put a drunk that had failed in private life (Grant who was a bankrupt alcoholic) and a lunatic (Sherman who spent time in a mental institution in 1860 when the war began) in charge of his armies bc he wanted to win the war”.

Despotism (Encyclopedia Britannica film, circa 1946)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaWSqboZr1w

“A community is low on a ‘Respect’ scale if common courtesy is withheld from large groups of people on account of their political attitudes.”

“...in a downright despotism opposition is dangerous whether the despotism is official or whether it is unofficial...”

“A community rates low on the ‘Information’ scale when the press, radio, and other channels of communication are controlled by only a few people and when citizens have to accept what they are told.”

“See how a community trains its teachers”
“...these students are being taught to accept uncritically whatever they are told. Questions are not encouraged.”

“And if books and newspapers and the radio [and facebook and youtube and...] are officially controlled the people will read and accept exactly what the few in control want them to. Government censorship is one form of control. The newspaper that breaks the government censorship rule can be suspended. It is also possible for newspapers and other lines of communication to be controlled by private interests...”

Democracy (Encyclopedia Britannica film, circa 1946)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx25aMPvbJo

“The newspapers of a real democracy meet these tests...”

Newspaper checks.
1. Balance of coverage
2. Disclosure of source
3. Competence of staff

Sure, we can blame the corrupted whore politicians and journalists for what is going on,but they only feed on an enormous segment of society that has no critical thinking skills and are as dumb as sheep. There is an industry in harnessing stupid people that yields enormous amounts of wealth and power while socially re-engineering. The incremental steps of a “progressive” society(Socialism) and all of the other evil “isms” are making progress and there is money to be made and opportunity to be powerful. Defeating Clinton was a temporary setback to the leftists who organize,NEVER give up and are ALWAYS united. Conservatism does not have this structure to our detriment.
