Exasperated Democrats try to rein in Ocasio-Cortez
Politico ^ | RACHAEL BADE and HEATHER CAYGLE

Posted on 01/11/2019 7:20:45 AM PST by RoosterRedux

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is already making enemies in the House Democratic Caucus — and some of its members are mounting an operation to bring the anti-establishment, democratic socialist with 2.2 million Twitter followers into the fold.

The effort, described by nearly 20 lawmakers and aides, is part carrot, part stick: Some lawmakers with ties to Ocasio-Cortez are hoping to coax her into using her star power to unite Democrats and turn her fire on Republicans. Others simultaneously warn Ocasio-Cortez is destined for a lonely, ineffectual career in Congress if she continues to treat her own party as the enemy.

“I’m sure Ms. Cortez means well, but there’s almost an outstanding rule: Don’t attack your own people,” said Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.). “We just don’t need sniping in our Democratic Caucus.”

Incumbent Democrats are most annoyed by Ocasio-Cortez’s threat to back primary opponents against members of their ranks she deems too moderate. But their frustration goes beyond that: Democratic leaders are upset that she railed against their new set of House rules on Twitter the first week of the new Congress. Rank and file are peeved that there’s a grassroots movement to try to win her a top committee post they feel she doesn’t deserve.

She won’t stop. She’s not the brightest and will say what she wants, when she wants. I wish some more conservative outlets would interview her as that would be fun to watch.

And all she wants to do is dance Crazy people walkin' round with blood in their eyes And all she wants to do is dance, dance, dance Wild-eyed pistols wavers who ain't afraid to die And all she wants to do is And all she wants to do is dance And make romance She can't feel the heat Comin' off the street She wants to party She wants to get down

All she wants to do is All she wants to do is dance

If you’re right, why ypthen are Republicans incapable of doing the same thing? Why do we run the same old dull “it’s his turn” candidates that inspire no one?

The smart young Conservatives end up on cable TV where they opine about stuff for money instead of in government where they could actually makes a difference.

Imagine having even ONE “miniTrump”. Maybe Dan Crenshaw will be it, but we need dozens...

She is the nightmare the Soros groups have created.
An easily manipulated, gullible loudmouth, who knows things with absolute certainty, that are not true.

Bush-League Republicans are terrified of rocking the boat. They don't want to be disinvited to all the choice Washington DC parties, or asked difficult questions on the talking head shows.

"miniTrump" Republicans are like nails that stick out. They get hammered down to see if they acquiesce, and become good little Bush-League'ers (at which point they're rewarded with generous re-elections funds and the opportunity to become wealthy). If they don't toe the line, they are discarded at the next election.

“Ha ha ha Awesome.”

President Trump should continue to treat that woman as if she is the official leader of Democrat party. Highlight her. Talk to her. Criticize her foolishness. Make her the face of the opposition.

If GOP House and Senate leaders had any sense - which they apparently don't - they would do the same. Every single day.

Make Chuck and Nancy beg to get a word in edgewise.

I don’t have any belief they will succeed. Their followers in the Media more than likely will keep feeding AOC’s bloated ego just enough to keep her bucking the system.

This could be a good thing. Other than providing us with constant humor. It could well be that it makes her one and done.

>> she’s an empty suit... just a tool like Obama was... for their schemes.

As with Robby Bozo O’Rouke, they are ‘good’ for drawing new voters to the poll who will blindly vote straight Rat.

O’Rourke didn’t get the actual Senate seat but on his coattails offices were swept in Ft Bend and Harris County giving them control of courts, voter registration, ballot language, and taxation/property assessment.

Now...DEAL WITH IT!!!

1968 Revolution 2.0.

Very good observation. In the 20th century:

Party Bosses -> New Dealers -> New Democrats -> Democratic Socialists.

I can't wait to see what happens.

The media narrative this morning was a not-so-subtle shot across her bow. Her party is "gently" telling her it's time to play ball . . . next move is yours. We'll see the content of her character in the next few weeks.
