Sarah Hoyt has yet to come to terms with the fact that it is her "born American in Portugal" civic nationalism that has led the United States to the brink of civil war:

More than a bit of truth here, thinking of Revolutionary War and Loyalists vs Revolutionaries, especially in the western Carolinas. Also Bloody Kansas in the lead-up to the US Civil War.

I know Sarah Hoyt. She is a good American and great example of the bright side of immigration and, as I have posted elsewhere, I am not a big fan of immigration, legal or otherwise.
Vox is entertaining but bit of a nutball. He has written that the only real citizens are descendants of the ‘original’ founding generation of this country.
Civic nationalism works when there is an emphasis on making new Americans conform to an American culture and nationalism. But “Diversity” has poisoned this process.

I don't agree. There will be some of this nasty tribal warfare but entire states will also secede. There will be regions that claim sovereignty.

I like a lot of the writers of Castalia House, John C. Wright especially.

I’m not sure any sort of widespread civil unrest is possible while the poorest people are the most likely to be obese and are the most entertained poor people ever. Also, our poor people are generally unused to hard physical activity outdoors and in all weather. Hard to imagine it happening while these conditions persist.

Yeah, I agree VD has some strange ideas, including his "America is for the direct descendants of those who were here at the founding" idea.

He lives in Italy, but writes a lot about American politics.

I enjoy some of his comic books, though. And I haven't read comics for years, but the idea of conservative themed comics seemed amusing, so I bought some, and they were pretty good.

His blog is interesting, he writes a lot. Even if only 1/4 of the pieces are on topics I care about that's usually ends up being 2 or 3 a week.
