In the Kavanaugh affair Peterson sadly missed an opportunity to teach us how totalitarianism grows.

I think like many inventors who have something precious to offer the world, they sometimes don't know how precious their creation is. And JP has created a wondrous worldview that is helping people - and society - align with an improved future. And, sadly, his tweet requesting that Judge Kavanaugh should resign showed no respect at all for his own creation and he is struggling to know why.

He gave an insightful comment a couple of weeks back - that the left uses the natural system of categorization - something that is absolutely essential to our own ability to deal with our vast reality - in a warped and dysfunctional way - for the purpose of EXCLUSION. He does not understand the depth of his own insight - but others do.

We naturally use 'that which is slightly different from us' as a means to deal with concepts such Asian (people with black hair, and a slightly different skin tone, who love to eat rice) - as a means of communication and place the world into some kind of orderliness. And what the left does is take this natural categorization process and then take a natural subgroup in society (males, whites, etc), or a person (Trump), and criticise, criticise, criticise - so much so that EVEN THOSE WHO WOULD NORMALLY SPEAK IN SUPPORT OF THAT GROUP OR PERSON FEAR DOING SO - out of fear of being tainted by association.

Peterson often asks: “Where is the boundary where the left oversteps the mark and steps on the pathway towards authoritarianism.” He highlights the push for the equity of outcomes as the starting point. This is correct but only half the story. When the left push for the equity of outcomes - something they say is the compassionate thing to do - they start to demonize all those who oppose them - all those who see the deep social dangers that are inherent in pushing for equality of outcomes when there is no equality of inputs. The left says their opponents are lacking in compassion - when, in reality, their opponents are just saying that the push for equity will create far more damage to the social fabric than the law that the left proposes will fix. Then, when the state accepts the left’s version of reality and sides with the left, a small number of people can then use the full force of the law to silence all those groups or individuals who still see the danger inherent in their equity goals.

In the process of endlessly criticizing those opponents who oppose their equity goals the left eventually create excluded groups – and people find it increasingly harder to talk in praise of these excluded groups or person – even if that group is a real positive force in society or has truthful ideas to share. So, any media star who speaks of the good things that Trump has done – and he has done some good things - might never get a film contract again. And thus, any senior figure or professional today who says something like: “the redefining of marriage so as to perfectly suit non-reproductive homosexual unions WILL cause future social decay” (which It does) is immediately tainted as being a nasty person who hates all gays. They are not treated as a professional who sees the damage that redefining marriage creates amongst various groups in the social fabric who will now have worse life outcomes. Heterosexual kids are taught gay sex and some end up with nasty diseases, and some end up never marrying because very few of us want to marry someone who is 'exploring their sexuality'. Many children end up being bought against their will by two gay men... and suffer intensely across their life-span both from a lack of mothering or from the knowledge that they were bought like a slave. Etc. In other words, redefining marriage leads to more harm being done to the social fabric than the benefits that are afforded to gays and lesbians - and society decays. So the left just changed the terms they used to attack those who see the damage that the left’s ‘compassion’ creates - from 'a member of the bourgeoisie' in the past to a bigot or homophobe today,

Peterson himself caught this flack when he stood up and said that you can’t redefine what a man and woman is because this will cause a nasty future – authoritarianism being one of those futures - and he got named a transphobe. So today, many professionals in many walks of life stay silent – fearful of saying what they know to be true – fearful to stand up and stay positive things about the worldview that the excluded groups or individuals represent. The redefining marriage issue was pivotal for the left because it gave them new groups and individuals they could criticize and exclude with the full force of the law behind them. The left has thus gone into overdrive since marriage was redefined in the USA - but Trump got in their way. And they are so upset. It’s worth reading about this issue in more depth. http://loveledushere.blogspot.com/2018/10/the-anatomy-of-cultural-marxism-and-why.html

This process of constant criticism has been such an effective tool of the left that they use it everywhere to advance their aims. You can see this all across the West. The normally conservative papers of the UK won’t say anything nice about Trump. They are too frightened to. Conservative students on campus almost can’t talk openly about their own worldview because they are frightened. And Kavanaugh – he is now tarred and smeared – and any judgment he makes in the future – and anyone who supports Kavanaugh in the future – will be targeted for attack. The left knows this works in their favor – always.

The left, through ongoing criticism, has now created so many excluded groups. Christians – who do so much good for the social fabric – are increasingly seen to be a negative social force. Anyone who speaks up against the redefining of marriage. Anyone who tries to stop the advance of the transgender agenda. Those women who speak up for men. Etc. There are so many excluded groups who are actually groups who have a lot of good in them – just we are not allowed to say so. All this cannot end well. We know this. When the good that these people represent is hidden, when they are only seen to be nasty people – we enter into a world that can have very nasty outcomes.

And this is where Peterson has not understood the value of his own worldview. Rather than using the Kavanaugh debate as a perfect chance to educate the Americans about how this is all very dangerous – to explain how the dangerous game of ongoing criticism leading to exclusion and silence is being played – excluding good people and groups that are of benefit to society through the mass attack of constant criticism – Peterson chose to just focus on ‘we need peace and stability in our time’ – just as the British government did in 1938 when Hitler was creating excluded groups who he later slaughtered. (PS: This process of exclusion is the hallmark of ALL socialist groupings – the Nazi’s included – they all just create different excluded groups).

Someone of stature has to stand up and teach society about the danger of the exclusion game which is the precursor for a very nasty future. This was a perfect chance for Peterson to help us all understand how the tactic of exclusion is a fundamental tool used by the Nazi’s and Communism, But, he went out for lunch. More than that, he sided with those who seek to exclude and the vast majority of people who value his worldview were shocked by what he said. One does not have to have Kavanaugh step down to prove that the left use a tsunami of false attacks and criticism to create new excluded groups and individuals. This is a well-driven road. The USSR used it. Jordan Peterson knows this better than almost everyone. Wake up young sir, wake up.

Yes, it was quite disappointing especially because he was and still is subject to the same type of witch hunt by the same scumbags.

Thanks for posting this!

Peterson went the IDIOT route, when he tweeted about Kavanaugh and yes, missed a great opportunity. The "idol" of some, proved that he has massive CLAY FEET and that that "clay" reaches up to his hips.

The Nazi analogy detracts from your argument, but I also think this was a rare misstep for him. He fell into the trap of thinking it possible or even advisable to placate the raving lunatics that attempted to destroy Brett Kavanaugh. It’s not.

Stefan Molyneux has the right idea: Respect is a Reciprocal Affair. Do not give anyone respect that they did not earn, especially if they are you enemy and are constantly working against you.

I think Jordan Peterson thought Kavanaugh as a Martyr would have more impact.... Like Jesus did....

If the left of today demand Jesus Christ and Jesus submitted himself for execution the left would be dancing in his entrails like rabid animals.

Showing UNCONDITIONAL HONOR towards people who don’t even consider HONOR as a virtue is the same as GIVING UP ALL TOGETHER!

The Formerly Peaceful Hindu Sikhs learned this lesson.... Jordan Peterson is just a fool who is projecting his own respect of virtue onto people who have NO respect OR virtue.

It would have been as if Lott escaped Sodom/Gomorrah and then on the outside of town before it burned said: “Well I won since I escaped, I should escort these angels back into town so the mob can rape them now”

Peterson was being a FOOL

I am sorry why do I care what a Canadian clinical psychologist says. Is this person some sort of TV psychobabbler trying to be the next Phil MaGraw? What is the big deal?

I agree, JP missed the mark with his Kavanaugh resignation suggestion. He usually is a bit more keen.

Nazi’s - National Socialist German Workers’ Party - it’s in the name. It’s funny how many people can’t see this. ALL socialism - because all socialism is based on collectivism - create groups. Some groups are in, others are out. Just they have different ins and outs. For Hilter, the blonde-haired, blue-eyed Aryans were in, the Jews were out. The Jews ‘oppressed’ the German workers. It’s all the same stuff. Regurgitated garbage which the young get sucked into in the name of compassion for the oppressed. Another one of Peterson’s small blind spots also.

Good analogy. NOTHING will placate the left. They just hate whatever gets in the way of their total power.

It is NOT about dems v. repubs. It is about The New World Order (SOCIALISM ALL OVER the entire world v THE US REPUBLICANS (CAPITALISM) The US DEMOCRATS have already sold their souls to the NWO. The ONLY THING holding back the system that been the dream of PROGRESSIVES since WWII has been capitalism. And the ONLY group that still governs by that is the Reblican party. This is ALL about THE 🇺🇸 REPUBLICANS V. THE NEE 🌎 ORDER.

Poorly written, not worth reading.

He didn’t make the point of his article in the first paragraph and his prose isn’t clear.

Is there some reason I should care?

Nazi analogies are just sort of a lazy type of political argument. There’s no place for the discussion to really find common ground once you get there.

Jordan Peterson’s “resign after confirmation” tweet was so far below his usual standard that I was appalled. I usually think of Peterson as brilliant, fascinating, and a superb culture warrior for conservatives. I am not used to thinking of him as an idiot.

Not exactly the correct allusion, but somehow it works and works far better than what the Peterson stupidly said!

And then, to have made that pathetic tweet and NOT just saying that he was wrong, made things even worse.

Has Peterson said some good things in the past? Yes, yes he has.

Is he "all that", as some of his followers seem to believe? NO, NOT AT ALL!

He is worse than just a "FOOL"; what he did, with just 2 tweets, is prove that he isn't really all that competent and logical, has little common sense, is arrogant, and that he has two very different sets of ethics...one for him and one for others, the hypocrite.
