The hearing would be the former Trump national security adviser's first court appearance since pleading guilty more than seven months ago.

A pair of legal filings suggesting that special counsel Robert Mueller's office is almost-but-not-quite ready to set a sentencing date for former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn have prompted a federal judge to order Flynn and lawyers for both sides to make an unexpected trip to court next week. than seven months ago.

The hearing set for next Tuesday would be the first court appearance for Flynn since last December, when the former Defense Intelligence Agency chief appeared in a packed courtroom to plead guilty to one felony count of making false statements to the FBI about his contacts with the Russian ambassador to the U.S., about his lobbying during the presidential transition on a United Nations resolution critical of Israel, and about his lobbying work favorable to the Turkish government. than seven months ago.

It would also be the first hearing before the judge currently assigned to Flynn's case, U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan. A few days after Flynn's high-profile plea last year, the judge who accepted it — Rudolph Contreras — recused himself. than seven months ago.

No official reason has ever been given by the court, but Contreras reportedly approved a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court warrant related to the Trump-Russia investigation. In addition, text messages exchanged between a top FBI agent later removed from that investigation, Peter Strzok, indicate that he was friendly with Contreras.

Something about that language seems to have irked Sullivan, prompting him to call in lawyers for both sides, plus the defendant. "Mr. Flynn is directed to attend," the judge's brief order said.

Flynn walks.

So maybe they got a judge that can actually see through all the BS?

I hope so. Flynn was railroaded.
They don’t want to try any of this in open court for a reason.

And I’m not sure why every paragraph ends with....”than seven months ago”. Could it be 7D chess maybe?

If he’s convicted of ANYTHING, President Trump needs to meet him on his way to prison with a PARDON IN HAND!

Enough! Americans have had enough!

Once he is sentenced, they can no longer offer him a get out of jail card for making up stuff on Trump. This is why they keep delaying the sentencing hearing. Perhaps the judge is fed up.

This is a farce. Send a platoon of Marines to the courtroom and tell Mueller his authority is not recognized.

We can rock ‘n roll from there.

Nope, all the evidence Mulehead has is altered 302s and the Judge is gonna call em in it.

“So Mr. Mulehead, you are before this court prosecuting this Defendant with altered government documents? Is that your Final Answer?”

Let’s hope Weizmann is the prick Mueller sends. This judge will crucify his sleezy ass.

I hope Mueller’s team continues to withhold exculpatory evidence under claims of national security. That ought to piss the judge off

The underpinnings of this investigation create far more questions than they answer.....

The government (to include Mueller) have an ethical and legal obligation to provide Flynn and his defense any evidence or information that is exculpatory in nature. This would include the rumors of altered 302’s, contradictory statements about wether the agents believed he lied, and even the basis of the information they used to show he lied (if he was illegally unmasked). On top of that, it appears that Flynn was set up based on an unmasked conversation he had with the Russian ambassador. We know reliably that he had just met with the agents the day before regarding background checks for incoming staff and he believed the second meeting was for the same purpose - i.e. - he was trying to be helpful NOT knowing they were investigating him for a statute that HAS NEVER been charged before - a Logan Act violation.

We know Flynn was unmasked because the compartmented TOP SECRET transcript was leaked by somebody to the media!

If Flynn were to appeal the conviction on the underlying charge he would win it easily. The statute says a citizen of the U.S. - the incoming security head of an administration in transition is not a mere citizen. He is the representative and assumes the authority of the President Elect. This was the crime he allegedly lied about.

Compare the two....

Flynn - the incoming security chief for the Trump administration in the transition talking to the Russian Ambassador

John Kerry - the ex-Sec of State who has no authority at all meeting in secret with the Iranian Government telling them to go to the Europeans to fight Trump

On the common sense scale...... which of these two events violates the Logan Act?

directed to attend

Interesting. I have been "ordered" to attend as a witness in the past. Never been directed to attend.

his lobbying during the presidential transition on a United Nations resolution critical of Israel

They went out of their way to avoid saying Flynn lobbied against John Kerry's anti-Israel UN resolution. Meanwhile Kerry escapes criticism for his obnoxious collusion with Hamas.

This particular judge has been at the center of some of the most notorious Deep State operations launched by the Justice Department, including the bogus prosecution of Ted Stevens, used to throw control of the Senate to Team Donkey during the years of the Obama regime, and the coverup of Louis Lerner's behavior via endless stonewalling by the agencies involved.

Here's a bit of his background.

The Observer: Judge Emmet G. Sullivan Slams Brakes on Another Prosecutorial Overreach

udge Sullivan “gets it” and his opinion, issued on Friday, begins with a bang: “The government’s power when prosecuting a criminal case is not infinite. Nor does it extend to any power not specifically forbidden by law.” Comparing the government’s baseless arguments to the conduct of a “grade-schooler seeking to avoid detention,” Judge Sullivan held: “The government in this case has overstepped Rule 17.”

He's needed where he is right now, but perhaps Trump can elevate him for seat number 5 or 6 in his second term.

Seven months ago the liar John Kerry was flying to New Zealand and Australia under the cover of “visiting Antarctica” to arrange help in passing John Kerry’s anti-Israel UN resolution.

...which is why the libs’ propaganda is so crazy...

Obama was caught spying on congress and Netanyahu during the Iran deal. They didn’t unmask the Trump people because of ties to the Russians, they unmasked Trump people due to Obama’s suspicion of their ties to Pro Netanyahu Jews and Russian Jews. The bank they spied on wasn’t just a Russian bank it was a bank headed by a Jewish dual citizen of Russia and Israel.

And all the while the Obama admin was targeting Jews and a president elect who has many Jews in the family, the lftists called these Jews and friends of Israel “Nazis.”

While Obama’s Sec of State flew frantically to the other side of the world the press promoted it as an environmentalist trip to distract from its real purpose, which was to arrange votes for the anti-Israel resolution.... and continued to cry Nazis, Nazis, etc...

Classic projection.

“Robert Mueller’s office is almost-but-not-quite ready to set a sentencing date for former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn”

Since when does the prosecutor set a sentencing date. The Judge sets that and the prosecutor has to be ready.
Of course, I’m probably not understanding how political trials work.
