Interesting that you bring up Trump. I thought at first that the article was going to be about Trump being the rising power, and the Establishment/UniParty/Swamp going to war to stop him.

A memorable college moment in the 1970s was when I walked up to my economics professor and said "You do know there is one economist out there who disagrees with everything you said--you have heard of Ludwig Von Mises, right?
The prof looked at me like I was speaking Chinese, paused and thought about for a moment, and said, "Nope, never heard of the guy".
The leftist indoctrination that made that happen goes back to the 1950s at least.
Some Von Mises books btw, must reading if you want to claim to know _anything_ about economics:

I’m not particularly worried about either China or Russia. The two could nibble around the edges, taking steps like the Crimea or a few man-made islands, but neither one has any interest at all in global thermonuclear war. They are more likely to join us as allies against a barbaric 7th century ideology than they are to harm us.
Our big worries should be listening to internal socialists and allowing the entry of external migrants. The civilized world needs to shut its doors to barbaric invaders, and we need to educate our children (for real!) about philosophy, freedom, and economics. The is the next war, the one we cannot afford to lose.

They all have blinders... I am certain that I have read more about both socialism/communism and against socialism/communism than any of the professors I had.
They were narrow minded and completely one-dimensional in their views and actual scope of knowledge about the subject.
THEY only read the stuff t for them-so they were hostile and responded defensively if you had some other view. Very childish.
