Isn’t their being perceptible the whole point of having security guards?

I’m not sure but it’s probable that the security cam’s in San Bruno are actually being monitored on the main Google campus in Mountain View. Google security guards keep a low profile. They are unarmed, thus mostly useless anyway.

Why would they need security? It’s a gun-free zone.
Nor are they secondarily perceptible, apparently.
Here is an idea for youtube. Make all employees and visitors use clear backpacks, bags and purses. Metal detectors and actual visible security guards would help too.
What YouTube needs to do is post a sign outside the doors declaring the office a gun-free zone.
Clearly they did not do that.
