I know, speaking disparagingly about democracy is considered blasphemy by most Americans. For many decades, US citizens have been taught to uncritically support the democratic system. Both republicans and democrats have accepted democracy as the only viable option of governance. However, what if I told you that the founders of the US were terrified that their beloved system would someday turn into a democracy?

This wasn’t just one or two founding fathers that had some oddball ideas. Almost every founder once warned us of this corrupt system. Below are just some of their numerous criticisms:

The democrats use it to push their party. the more the word is seen or heard in a positive context, the more people perceive the democrats as “good.”

I’m not convinced that most voters know the difference between a democracy and a republic.

Because a smart person’s vote counts as much as an intelligence-deprived person’s vote.

Tell you what.

Walk into any Walmart. Any Target. Any K-Mart in America. Any state. Any city. Any hardware store. Any stereo store.

ANYWHERE.

Everything being sold there, is made in the People’s Republic of China. I know, not literally everything, but enough to really, really make a big difference.

Everyone has been selling out to China for the last entire generation.

China, is NOT a democracy.

Sure they do. In a republic you foster the "golden goose" in a democracy you cut it open. Simple.

Agreed. I have yet to meet a single person outside of an internet forum like FR that understands the difference between the two, or even uses the word “Republic”.

John Adams also said, “Democracy is Lovelace, and the people are Clarissa... The artful villain will pursue the innocent lovely girl to her ruin and her death” (1804) He was referring to the villain of the 1740 English novel CLARISSA, about a girl who is pursued, kidnapped, drugged, and raped by a rogue. She escapes him, but dies of heart failure triggered by the stress of his continued, relentless stalking.

Repeal the 17th Amendment and give representation in the US Congress back to the State legislatures. Direct election of Senators is anti Republic and contrary to the plan of the Founders.

The intention was to make part of the government answerable to the States.

And part of the argument for changing that was because the States were corrupt.

That might have been true—but I would prefer to have my corruption closer to home where I may have some control over it—and at least those corrupting the Senators will have their home state in mind when corrupting them.

When the third sentence of you article highlights a blatantly false premise, it is hard to see why one should bother reading the rest.

The Democraps want to change this country into a mob rule tribal expense of land.

The Democraps almost had that finished, with the ugliest woman on earth.

Can you see what America would look like with the likes of all those unarrested, tattooed like a highway billboard, MS-13 pukes voting on your grandma’s rights to self-defense and Social Security?
