In this AR era, you can find them all over the internet and local gun stores. For those looking to get a quality AR but a limited in their spending, can you find an AR under $500?
You definitely can, here are some of those AR-15 under $500.
Windham Weaponary R16 M4 $465
This AR features an M4A4-type flat top upper receiver and Picatinny rail gas block to allow for the use of a variety of optics and removable sights. However, it doesnt come with iron sights.
The chrome-lined steel 16-inch barrel has an M4 profile and a removable A4 flash hider. Has a six position stock.
This AR is one of the better quality.
DPMS Oracle
May be one of the most accurate out on the market for under $500. Features a 16″ lightweight barrel, a flat top upper receiver, Glacier Guard handguards and a collapsible, six-position Pardus buttstock.
Its a perfect AR for the first time owner or just an accurate and affordable plinker. See the rest of the best AR15 for under $500 here.
Pay a bit more, about 550 for a S&W M&P15. Very solid , reliable, milspec and accurate AR , with lifetime warranty
AR 15
It’s important to note that all M&P 15’s aren’t created equal.
The sport models are cheaper and can be had at the mid 500’s.
But from there, they can top 2g
With the price of Mini-14’s and AK’s going through the roof, these are the new Cheap Ass Gun’s for SHTF.
If I had to choose, 2-3 of these are better than 1 of anything else.
I have a very nice-shooting AR-15 made by High Standard. I paid $349.00 for it brand new, albeit about 10 years ago.
Ping
I have one with a Trijicon scope and RMR red dot sight . It is deadly accurate at 100yds.and beyond . One thing though , all ARs have some movement in them as a stock rifle (upper and lower movement and in the stocks)I have eliminated this situation in the most easy way . I also added a Timney 2.5lb drop-in trigger with no take up . Very , very accurate .
“...flat top upper receiver and Picatinny rail gas block...”
Better change Picatinny to something else, sounds too much like Pickaninny, and don’t do it niggardly either.
Glad I got my mini14 years ago. Never ever ever jams. Except if I am stupid enough to use that cheapass Wolf shyt.
Agreed. For $599 here in GA you can get the S&W. It does not have a dust cover or a forward assist but since you won’t be fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan its not a big deal.
I have a Anderson ar15 , great rifle would not trade it for one that costs three times more. You can go to U-Tube and see just how well they are built .
That's actually a selling point for me.
Just ordered a RUGER PC9...$519.00.
Not an AR but definitely a “Player!”
I got a batch of 10 magpul’s 30rd’ers from Midway for $10 each. They also sell some autoloaders which helps you burn more ammo.
Good luck...
An SKS , a buttload of ammo, and all the accessories you could ever want. That’s what $500 could buy you.
