The Pope is utterly delusional. They didn’t find themselves in a land with no place for therm. They arrived at an inn that had no room for them. They weren’t fleeing war or famine or trying to colonize another country they were traveling under orders from the roman govt. Unfreaking believable and I’m Catholic.

Naturally, as Christians we seek to behave as the Good Samaritan... within reason and American law.
Our borders must be secured. Then we can deal with the problem of illegal immigration — and those already here illegally.

Actually that's pretty accurate.
Joseph and Mary lived in Nazareth.
The only reason Joseph had to go back to Bethlehem was that he was from there, and went because he was related to the House of David.
It was under orders of Caesar Augustus who called for an every 14 year census to determine TAXES to be paid.
If Mary was not very pregnant, he would have gone alone.
After their journey they went home to Nazareth, where Jesus grew up.
At no time was Joseph unemployed, nor was looking to stay in Bethlehem, and live on the dole.
He also didn't kill a couple of Bethlehem residents while there, nor rode drunk on a donkey, or imported drugs.
He was a good man who did his duty and took care of his family as best as he could.
