Trump: ‘Obamacare Has Been Repealed In This Bill’
Breitbart ^ | 12/20/17 | Pam Key

Wednesday during a cabinet meeting, President Donald Trump discussed the Republican’s tax bill and said the repeal of individual mandate in the bill meant Obamacare has “essentially” been repealed.

Trump said, “The individual mandate is being repealed. When the individual mandate is being repealed that means Obamacare is being repealed because they get their money from the individual mandate. So the individual mandate is being repealed. So in this bill not only do we have massive tax cuts and tax reform, we have essentially repealed Obamacare. And we’ll come up with something that will be much better. Whether it’s block grants or whether it’s taking what we have and doing something terrific. But Obamacare has been repealed in this bill.”

The other stickler is what has to be in the policies...in particular...birth control.

Everyone I know has always paid for their own birth control. How this came about, I'll never know. It's ridiculous.

Obamacare has not been repealed, in the sense it can never again reach out and negatively affect many aspects of the US economy, but it has been emasculated for now.

Under a doctrinaire Democrat President and compliant Congress, it could still be resurrected, like a buried container of radioactive waste, and begin its poisoning of the environment all over again.

Sorry Mr. President, the “EHB’s” (Essential Health Benefits) mandate remains...making it impossible to buy a high deductible policy at a reasonable rate. Also, the individual mandate doesn’t go away until 2019 and then policy premiums will skyrocket even more as people leave the pool. And what about the employer mandate?

Do you have a source for the 2019 cancellation date on the penalty tax?

Thanks

Obamacare has absolutely NOT been repealed. We still have:

*The employer mandate
*The Medicaid expansion
*The government subsidized obamacare plans on the exchanges
*The “shall-issue” mandate that people with pre-existing conditions have to be issued coverage
*The regulation than older sick people can’t be charged more than 3x what young healthy people are charged.
* All the other non-essential things that plans are required to cover whether you want them or not: substance abuse, mental health, preventative care, etc.

Try to learn our system of government.

Obamacare is a LAW.
It can not be repealed using Reconciliation (simple majority needed).

“Reconciliation is a legislative process of the United States Congress that allows expedited passage of certain budgetary legislation on spending, revenues, and the federal debt limit with a simple majority vote in both the House (218 votes) and Senate (51 votes).”

Regardless of what you hear in left wing media, Trump is NOT a dictator. He does not have 60 votes in Senate to repeal Obamacare law. Reconciliation can only apply to spending & fiscal part of Obamacare. McCain made sure Obamacare spending and fiscal aspects were not dismantled.

Obamacare has absolutely NOT been repealed.

Headline is misleading. I think a lot of Obama Care was left murky on purpose to get this tax bill through with the weak Rinos. It's going to be re-visited, I'm sure. At least the individual mandate is going away and that is something that would never happen under a Hillary Clinton administration.

In the beginning, before Obama & the Dems created compldete chaos in the nation’s health care system, we kept hearing the numbers:

“10 million Americans have no health care”.

I believe that many counted in that number were illegals, and that number was inflated.

However-—IF there were 10 million true Americans without ‘health care’, I contend that this would have been a better plan that Obamacare:

FEDERAL clinics could have been set up in areas all across the country. Homeless or very poor or unemployable persons needing health care could come in & get BASIC health care in these clinics.

That would have left the formerly existing health care system that had worked for years for American who work or who also employ others could have been left alone.

NO MANDATE-—

NO outrageous CODING for every broken fingernail—

NO outrageous co-pay amounts that often amounted to more than 50% of a persons GROSS income———

No ‘subsidies’ to low income persons...which amounted to money paid on behalf of a low income person being paid by a higher income person....

NO ‘EVERYONE’S RECORDS electronically available’ to the whole world of hackers.

There were other impossible parts of Obamacare-—

But I still feel all these years later that it could have been solved by Federal/State clinics that were walk in & BASIC medicine. It would also have taken the pressure off the hospital emergency rooms.

People who refuse to take care of themselves could have been weeded out by local people seeing them often enough to recognize them for fraudulent problems.

“Do you have a source for the 2019 cancellation date on the penalty tax? “

I have seen it mentioned from several sources. The mandate is in effect until Jan 1st 2019.

Birth control pills weren’t even that expensive. I wonder if costs went up with insurance coverage.

2017 prices...I checked around a bit....$9 at Walmart...other places $12, $15.....

I think you can get them free at Planned Parenthood.

Michelle probably wanted them included in "lunch".

Didn’t Trump issue a directive to the IRS not to enforce it earlier this year?
