Steve Bannon's Big Loss in Alabama
https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/steve-bannons-big-loss-alabama/ ^

Posted on 12/13/2017 3:43:25 AM PST by deek69

The big loser in Tuesday's Alabama's special Senate election was not the Republican Party. They had already lost weeks ago, the moment the Washington Post wrote their (carefully vetted, in this instance) exposé of the thirty-year-old sexual proclivities of Judge Roy Moore.

He did not have a strong GOTV and hate is a strong motivator for the Dems.

We don't need to wait for them to leave to know what a disingenuous hit this was.

If you add it all up, and you know the desperate MO of the left, how evil they are, that should be enough.

Bannon is a fool.

But when Mitch and Donald decided to back Luther Strange rather than Mo Brooks they set this all in motion.

Mo Brooks, with Trump’s backing would have won the primary and carried the state by 25 points. When they backed Strange instead, it split the sane vote and opened up a path for the insane Roy Moore.

Worse. They sabotaged Moore blatantly. Deep-state GOP and Shelby. “By any means necessary” take down Trump, even if it means losing our country — which it does. The depth of hatred can only be Satanic, as there’s no amount of logic that can explain it.

I am sorry but you are sorely mistaken. Moore was a severely flawed candidate. Alabama is a solidly Republican state, but Moore won his election in 2012 with only 51% of the vote (Romney recieved 60% of the vote). That's a red flag that many Alabama Republicans had serious reservations about Moore long before any imaginary deep-state Satanic cabal sabotaged his Senate campaign.

Well if that’s what you think then find a new hobby, don’t vote, and by all means save us the bandwidth.

Because no one here is in the losing industry because of what you feel or think. We had enough of you guys back in 216 to last a lifetime.

...many Alabama Republicans had serious reservations about Moore...

Then why did they pick Moore in the primary when they could have chosen Brooks?

Agree 100%!!

And, add Sen Tim Scott and all of the other RINOs who played their BS RINO games, to that list.

Heck, it was just over a week ago that CNN !! couldn’t find any Alabamans who were against Moore.

What a difference a RINO/DNC smear machine operation makes.

Three NH House seats that have never in history been won by Democrats have flipped in special elections since November 2016.

I agree that 2018 is going to be a wipeout for the GOP. I am one who believes that the GOP is standing in the way of major social and political transformation, and having it burned to the ground will be a step in the right direction.

I just wish it had been the Democratic party that burned down first.

And I think that goes to the heart of what the right has to do in 2018.

I’ve said many times, stop voting for superficial stuff. Just because someone can quote the Bible, pose with a gun, or sport a good county accent, doesn’t mean you don’t have to say “can this person win”.

Moore came close, but gravity is a hard thing to break free of.

Now this will hurt the Bannon brand. He won’t be visibly campaigning with anyone next time, and many canidates will avoid him. However it puts Trump in the diver’s seat because his recommendation for the race in hindsight looks smart, reasoned, and headache free, despite reservations by lots on the right.

When Trump says “I want this guy” in 2018, it will now be followed.

I think we are going to be slaughtered in 2018. I really do. I think we may lose both House and Senate.

I'm not quite as pessimistic as you. I think the GOP holds the Senate, and maybe picks up a seat or two. But it won't be a nearly as big a win as it might have been. I think the House is in far more danger. The Republicans in states like New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and California could pay the price for their vote on the tax plan. About the only thing that might save it is the idea of a Speaker Pelosi again. If the Democrats were smart she'd step down from the leadership and allow a fresh face to be considered as Speaker. But I don't think they're that smart.

Did Bannon back Moore or just the next highest against Strange in the primary?

What is your larger point, that Bannon should give up the anti-incumbency movement and let McConnell have the Senate he wants? Or is there someone else you'd rather see step up and replace Bannon as quarterback of the movement?

Otherwise, you take the sack, get up, and get back in the huddle.

I hope you are right. I hate when we lose in places like oklahoma and Iowa. Yes very small elections with under 2 grand voting but to lose a seat after 40 years is ridiculous and it’s happening all over. I think the tax bill is dead.

Trump also backed Moore you idiot. Trump and Bannon are tied at the hip. Trump is in the swamp so he has to act slightly moderate but they are simpatico. You globalists don’t/can’t see that.

McConnell is the one doing the happy dance this morning

I can't understand why. He just defecated in his own punch bowl. Basically he just shut down Washington DC and the entire legislative agenda. Any legislative agenda.

Jones didn’t win this.

The media won it. Washington Post specifically. And their teammates who then piled on. The third rail is running our country. They are not the lapdogs of the Democrats.

The Democrats are the media’s lapdogs.

And they together will only intensify their efforts until they have eliminated Trump one way or another.

However long Trump lasts, I dread the days when his time is finished. We will see Obama x10, and our republic will be toast. As will our freedoms and the constitution.
