The likes of Kirsten Gillibrand parade themselves as paragons of avenging feminist virtue in calling on Sen. Al Franken to resign. But the Morning Joe crew sees another motive behind the Democrat’s move to force Franken out: “cynical politics.”
Mika Brzezinski, Joe Scarborough, and Willie Geist all made similar points: the move to defenestrate Franken is really about Democrats trying to give themselves the high ground on the issue of sexual misconduct. The Dems’ real target is Roy Moore.

Weinstein, Franken, etc. are all worth throwing to the wolves to get the country into an uproar and then have a zillion women accuse Trump of blah blah next year.

This is correct. This is an easy one for the democrats. Remove Franken and replace him with another Democrat that can win the special election next year. Democrats can claim they remove their deviants, while the Republicans do not. Every GOP candidate in 2018 will be defined as being part of the Roy Moore party. It is going to be a long year for Republicans.

This is a symptom of the Progressives loss of control over the narrative.
For decades, they controlled the narrative with the establishment media. The alternate media now has enough power to break the dominance of the establishment, Progressive, media.
Without the ability to control the narrative, Progressives are resorting to desparation tactics like getting rid of Franken and Conyers without due process.
Of course, they have never believed in due process, so to them it seems completely normal.
But to most people, throwing Franken under the bus, while it may be satisfying, has nothing to do with voting for Roy Moore.
Essentially the Progressives are saying, see, we threw Franken off the cliff, so you should throw Moore off the cliff as well! See! see!
But Conservative voters have other sources of information. They do not find the establishment media persuasive any longer.
Well said. And the same applies to Conyers, of course. Odds of a Republican winning his seat are precisely zero. So Dems sacrifice nothing in pushing out the senile Conyers.
Why is it that people see this “joe morning” person as some sort of “guru” on what is right and wrong, what is “American”.

I hear you. I do think Joe has lost his grip in his hatred of Trump.
I used to enjoy the show, but find it almost unwatchable nowadays. But I dipped in this morning, and was pleasantly surprised by this segment.
I’m sure they’ll get back to apocalyptic Trump-bashing in due course today.
