I love The Clash. On a related note, I just ordered a sweatshirt that has a parody design of The Ramones band logo circle with “Biggs Dickus” and Incontinentia Buttocks” in the circle, and “Romanes” in big red letters above it. :)
If I recall, they were so pro-Sandinista that they made a three record album called Sandinista. Were they being ironic?
Excellent album - although they could have fit the relevant music onto two records. "Magnificent Seven" was an early drain-the-swamp sentiment.
On a side note, when Joe Strummer died, there were several interesting essays/comments on National Review On-Line (I know, I know - Never-Trumpers now) about the Clash and their music/message. I think the Sandinista thing was more of what their (paying) audience expected to see and hear. I guess that's the Free Market at work.
Saw them in Oct ‘82 at Shea Stadium.

Opening for The Who at Shea - you lucky dog!
Saw Joe Strummer with a no-name band in a small club in New Haven in '97 - he put on a great show (sitting about 5 feet from the little stage) - snapped a string and didn't miss a beat.

I believe this was a two night show. I went for my birthday. It was October 12/13. The night we went there was a breach on the third base line and the field was flooded with people.
Awesome send me the link.
Yes, so ahead of their time. I will watch Rude Boys again to freshen up. Thanks Bro.
It should be here:

It’s also a good site to start one’s own retail business with. I’ll have to think on this a bit myself.
