Trump Is President, Hillary Isn’t. Be Thankful For That.

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Given that it’s the day before Thanksgiving and The Campaign Update will be taking tomorrow off, it seems like a good time to list some of the many things I’m thankful for in the world of politics and public policy.

The first one is easy: I’m thankful that Hillary Clinton isn’t the president. It’s bad enough that she remains in the public eye, still doing everything she can to destroy our nation’s democracy, still cloying and grasping in a desperate effort to remain politically viable, but she isn’t president, and the nation is safe from that prospect for at least another 3 years.

Second, I’m thankful Donald J. Trump is the President. Thankful for the roaring economy his roll-backs of Obama regulations have created. Thankful for the record-high closes in the stock markets on almost a daily basis. Thankful for his refusal to bend to the will of the fake news media or buy into the dictates of political correctness. Thankful for how crazy he drives liberals each and every day. Thankful for his refusal to bow to the leaders of other countries. Thankful for the sense of class and style he and First Lady Melania Trump have returned to the White House. Thankful to have a President who is simply willing to celebrate Christmas again. Thankful that he Never. Stops. Tweeting.

Third, I’m thankful to the leaders of the Democrat Party, such as they are, and their utter failure to learn a single damn lesson from their humiliations in the 2016 elections. Rather than take those humiliations as an opportunity to moderate their policies and clean the corruption from their ranks, the Democrats have instead doubled down on the leftist radicalism that has taken them from the clear national majority they enjoyed as recently as 2010 to a shrinking, minority regional party centered in large cities along the East and West coasts. Their party leadership remains a motley collection of corrupt fools, their anti-Trump and anti-middle American rhetoric grows more shrill with each passing day. Cool.

Fourth, I’m thankful for the fake reporters, fake editors, and fake talking heads who infest the fake national news media. Like the Democrat Party they all loyally serve, they have learned nothing from their own rejection in 2016, their double standards, biases and outright fabrications so blatantly obvious that no thinking person believes anything they have to say. Which is good for America, since there is no national mainstream media outlet that can be trusted anymore.

Fifth, I’m thankful to James Comey and Hillary Clinton for their invention of the whole “Russia Collusion” fantasy play. No, really, I am, despite the abuses of power that are obvious in the Robert Mueller investigation. But that special counsel investigation is, intentionally or not, leading inexorably to the final downfall of not President Trump, but of Bill and Hillary Clinton. Without that special counsel, we would not now know that it was the Clinton Campaign and the DNC that funded the fake Trump Dossier. Without that special counsel, we would still be in the dark about the role James Comey’s FBI played in all of that as well. Without that special counsel, the whole Uranium One scandal would still be a secret buried in the bowels of hidden Justice Department records. Yeah, I’m thankful for Russia Collusion, because that fantasy has led to the revelation of so much reality, with much, much more to come.

Finally, I’m thankful for all the women and former child actors who have been brave enough to come out in recent weeks and out so many monsters in Hollywood, the fake news media, and now in politics. Intentionally or not, they are showing America that the country’s leftwing institutions have long been cesspits of sexual depravity and abuse. This is a reckoning that has been a long time coming, and is likely just getting started.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. The Campaign Update will return on Friday.

Just another day in so much to be thankful for America.

That is all.

I do every day. After all the dirty deeds by the democrats, the GOPe and other, I believe that Trump became president through divine intervention.

Indeed, I posted on Facebook and expressed deep gratitude, very thankful that Donald J. Trump was duly and constitutionally elected in spite of every effort of the main stream media, the established political parties and the Hollywood celebrities. WE the people have a winner... I am thankful today for that. I am so thankful that I won’t have to watch any NFL games, and I plan to enjoy time with friends and loved ones.

Thanks for posting that.

I was completely lukewarm about Trump initially, not really for or against in many respects. I don’t watch television, and haven’t for a couple of decades now, so I only knew about Trump anecdotally from others who watched “The Apprentice”, and I also had shallow knowledge of his reputation as a wealthy businessman, but that is about it.

So I didn’t really have any feelings one way or another about Trump when he entered the race.

I didn’t have a negative view of his candidacy because he wasn’t a traditional politician, quite the opposite. Like many on here, I view our political process as being somewhat broken, and inhabited by professional politicians whose views on matters, interpersonal conduct, and how to get things done diverge sharply from my own.

I believe at the time, I was generally inclined towards Ted Cruz, but that is more an indication of the weakness of available choice than anything positive about the candidate. I admit there were times when Cruz would make statements that made me sit up and say “Well, I wish I heard more people speaking out on this the way Cruz just did!” but that was about it.

I am thrilled with Donald Trump. To be up front, I am not a fan of the “brash, loud-talking New Yorker” personality that some people love. But in his attacking of liberal and RINO cows, Trump has become MY “brash, loud-talking New Yorker”, MY attack dog.

And I love him for it. We are long overdue. I was so unfailingly sick and nauseous at hearing people I felt I had to support talking about these heinous, anti-American pieces of crap as “My esteemed colleague across the aisle” when I desperately wanted someone to stand up and say it like it is.

During and up to his election, I gave him my full support because the alternative was Hillary Clinton. That is like giving me a choice between a wonderful dinner at the world’s finest restaurant with the world’s greatest view, or being tied to a chair in a leaky cellar with rusty pipes and having my eyes burnt with hot pokers, genitals cut off, and fingernails pulled out. In other words, I supported him fully because the alternative was so appallingly and irrevocably bad.

However, since his election my admiration for his no-nonsense approach has grown, and my total and unswerving support for Trump arrived completely on the day he gave his Rose Garden address to announce the United States was withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord. I had been longing for a leader to stand up and say the things I have long thought about Anthropogenic Global Warming, that the entire thing is a money/power grab and is a giant hoax. I very nearly stood on my feet and began cheering all by myself when he said those things.

That, and his propensity to view “agreements” in the same way a businessman would view an “agreement”. That is, if an agreement is a losing proposition (in the business world, your company loses money with no gain, and no prospect for changing in the framework of the agreement...that is, you will go out of business eventually) then you don’t stay with it. You change it or get out of it. You don’t keep doing it because it is cutting your own throat. You change or get out. That he approaches things that way with agreements with other countries is long, Long, LONG overdue.

And to you as well. This Thanksgiving, with all that is going on, and contrasting with the last eight Thanksgivings, we do have many things we CAN be thankful for.

Should make for some entertaining family gatherings at the Thanksgiving table tomorrow...when folks say they are thankful that Trump is our President, and Hillary is not.

I imagine there will be snowflake meltdowns, people storming away from the table with their plate still full of food, doors slamming...

:)

The fact that she got even close to the White House shows the fragility of freedom in the world.

Stay vigilant and a very Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I believe God shed his grace on ‘we the people’ and spared US from a reign of terror I call Jezebel Clinton. We the people, have been granted a reprieve, from the mindless godless destroying ghouls of the left.

This will be one of the most joyous Thanksgiving I have ever celebrated.. Thank you Dear Lord.

Don’t need Thanksgiving to be thankful that a modern day “Miss Haversham” is waddling around trying to make sense of a loss she was so sure she’d win. Thank you Lord for your Devine hand in this election.

Look up “Debbie Downer Thanksgiving” for some intrafamilial squabbling at the holiday table.

Oh yes, I’m very thankful for the past year, on Thanksgiving, and for always, that Donald J. Trump is our President.

Cankles needs to moderate her post election anger. That kind of rage gnaws from within in a very destructive way.
