REDMOND, Ore. - A Salem-based gun manufacturer called Radian Weapons is relocating to Redmond. It makes rifle accessories and AR-15s that are sold all over the world.

The company is moving its entire production facility and headquarters to Redmond.

For the past six months, Radian Weapons has been working with Redmond city officials to find a building.

They settled on the High Desert Industrial Park, a lease-to-own building at 875 NE Kingwood Avenue.

Redmond Economic Development Senior Director Jon Stark said Central Oregon was attractive to the company, because it is largely accepting of the gun industry.

"Redmond's pretty conservative, and if you go out to the local gun ranges, just outside of Redmond, you'll see a lot of people out there that you wouldn't expect, that are out there enjoying the outdoors," Stark said Thursday.

"Redmond as a community has really been supportive of this industry, and it's been a target for us to grow companies in this space," Stark said....

I have to assume they are moving from Salem Oregon instead of Massachusetts?

Yes, Radian is currently in Salem, OR.

Funny that they are moving to a more gun-friendly location in the same liberal state. They should have moved to Boise.

Point of Interest: Redmond, OR is just south of Madras, OR and was a great location to watch the eclipse this summer. I stayed in Redmond, but drove a couple hours east to watch it in a more smoke-free locale. Redmond seems to be a growing and prosperous area.

Where do we sign up? Far northern cali mountain folks, well educated professionals here, looking for a future out of the socialist/communist state of Kalifornia.

I went to the Painted Hills to reconnoiter on Sunday and hiked around there. LOTS of people. Spent the night in the hills to the south and on Monday morning went back to Painted Hills. It was even more crowded, so I drove further north on the dirt road and eventually wound up on a hill above the John Day River in the middle of nowhere. It was really cool because there were about 30 people up there, all strangers, who had happened to come together there. Great group of people. The viewing was spectacular because the eclipse came in from the west up the river valley. I couldn’t have found a better viewing spot. It was maybe 3 miles north of the totality line.

It was the most amazing thing ever, wasn’t it?
