Agree, it is far fetched. I have no doubt McConnell wants rid of Moore. Getting rid of Trump, however, would be akin to saving a house by lighting it on fire. I’m not sure McConnell is that crazy.

That being said, it doesn’t take a genius to see how the furor could be used to build support for getting rid of Trump. Unintended consequence or diabolical plan? Its really hard to know these daze.

I am not a McConnell fan and maybe McConnell did this but the link only provides suspicion regarding 3 potential wrong doers - no evidence is given

According to whispers, it wasn’t just taking “political shot” at Moore that motivating the McConnell camp. They want Roy Moore out of the way and replaced with someone of McConnell’s choosing, or even Moore’s Democrat opponent, Doug Jones, a man whose career is linked to the Bill Clinton administration.

Replace Moore with someone of McConnell's choosing? Well that would be ... Luther Strange. If the Republicans were involved the time to have played this card was during the primary and not just a few weeks before the general election when the ballot can't be changed.

Reason I don’t buy into this theory is because a Moore victory will actually make Trump stronger. Getting Moore out of the race and electing the Democrat (in a red state that gave Trump a 30 point victory a year ago) was probably a 50/50 proposition at best. When you are trying to take out the king, you need better odds than that!
