Love it. May well be that a significant portion of those seats were sold, but unattended. Yet multiply those empty seats by $80 a head for lost Parking / Concessions.

Thanks. I was hoping to see pictures of empty stadiums. I agree, these whining cry babies, have the right to do whatever it is they do, but the fans also have the right, to tell them to go F themselves. It looks like they are.

If there was ever a time for a competing league it is NOW!

There have attempts in the past.....the AFL became the AFC. there were others. Now is the time!

When the stadiums start to empty out, the fans who do attend will start to feel like chumps. It’s hard enough to spend years following and trying to get excited about a mediocre team, which is what most NFL teams are. Showing up to cheer a bunch of average players who rub your nose in their politics does not sound like much fun. I wonder if the NFL has had so much success for so many years that it’s lost sight of basic marketing.

From an earlier post to FR:

“Roger Goodell and the NFL can kiss my ass and go to hell”.

My sentiments, exactly.

The Jets host New England in a few weeks. New England is always a hot ticket whenever they come down to New York.

I came across an advertisement a few days ago for two tickets to this game -- selling at $5 above face value.

I know there are other factors here (like the Jets are a terrible team), but this is a bad sign for the NFL.

Why does the NFL enjoy non-profit tax status?

The league doesn’t really need people in the seats. They get most of their money off of the TV contracts which are locked in. So the real benefit is the hit to the left wing media companies.

Since I don’t watch, does anyone know if the game announcers commented on the crowd sizes? They often comment when it’s snowing or for other reasons (the old Bag Fans in New Orleans). Looks like objective announcing would comment on it.

Those photos of the Chargers game looks like it’s their old stadium, Jack Murphy Stadium (yes, I still call it Jack Murphy), in San Diego.

“The league doesn’t really need people in the seats”

Empty seats is a Marketing / PR nightmare, it will trickle down. Just wait for the next round of TV contracts. The networks will be giving hundreds of millions of concessions to Advertisers due to the low ratings. They NFL needs to put the Genie back in the bottle if even possible at this point.

Are you sure that wasn’t fourth quarter of the last preseason games? If those pictures are real this BS “hands up, don’t shoot” kneel down movement will end quickly. CBS, ESPN and NBC don’t care about ratings as long as they can preach the leftist narrative but million dollar advertisers do.

I can visually confirm the same percentage of empty seats in Orchard Park, NY for the Broncos-Bills game. Below is the road to New Era Field @about 10:00 AM. This is usually a bumper to bumper traffic jam at this time.

Why does the NFL enjoy non-profit tax status?

It's just the league office that has NP status, because it doesn't generate revenue for itself. All revenue is divided among the teams, which are not non-profit.
